Yes the result is upsetting, but I do ask that before anyone writes the season off and declares a handful of players to not be good enough, just remember we have just won 21 games in a row with this squad.

It sucks but bad results happen. When United did the league and CL double in 07/08, a midtable City side did the double over them.

Anyway, I thought Stones was a real standout today.

It’s a very sore one because of the manner of defeat, with a whimper.

A defeat had to happen, maybe it happening in this manner against them will galvanise the squad for the next push.

Today had shades of Lyon about it, overthinking it and under playing it.

Well the last game I went to in the cup against them they beat us at the Etihad 1-0. We still went through but like today it was an absolute embarrassment, one they seem more than capable of recreating time and time again.

Again.. a game that didn’t change the trajectory of a trophy...

Both are being put before Barnardo & Phil when nowhere near the form of both of those 2

Big decisions to be made neither get new deals imo & if they dont like it then move on simple

Stetling I just can't take to no matter how hard I try I seem to shout like fuck at the TV at least half a dozen times each game

Hes had 1 decent season & the guy wants £400.000 a week he can get fucked

Wednesday has become harder for us now but we have much more to offer if the right team is picked

The result wasnt a surprise at all once the line up was named. The line up was similar to the start of the season and our performance was simialr as well
KDB is a problem at the moment. As fantastic as he has been Im starting to wonder if he is getting near the end of his time with us...the way Pep has been playing which has been getting the best out of the team does not suit him in the centre...Maybe he could be moved wider? However you cannot take away fromthe fact that he has not been near his best this season (while remaining a decent player)

Either Pep adapts the way he sets up or KDB may no longer be the main man....our best performances this season have all come without him in the team

Bernardo and Foden should have both started.

Mahrez was typical Mahrez
Sterling was awful
Jesus - still the questions remain whether he has a place in a team chasing to be the very best.....can that team afford a striker who shy's away from shooting and when he does it proves to be the weakest part of his game?

Not a single option of an over the top ball in behind. No movement ,no threat. Everything had to go through their 2 banks of 4 . Awful.

Runs over and stands on the touchline, inevitably playing it back to where its come from.

No Bernie no party. He is central to everything this team has done over the last 2 months where we seem to be able to rotate at will. We missed his energy levels and his ability to carry the ball from deep but above all the formation looked too rigid without him. Cancelo in particular suffered from his absence.
All the various selection arguments have their merits, we are talking about a squad of exceptional players, but for me what he brings to the team is unique and we can suffer in his absence.

And we’re treating him like some shite bit part player like James fucking Milner.

Ultimately, we lost that because of two very poor mistakes that led to their goals. As much as I’d have liked to have seen a slightly different starting line up, we still created a lot of chances. Our biggest issue was not finishing them (again).

A repeat of West Ham, but the rags are much better than them and it showed.

If he is playing both Cancelo and Zinchenko against a counter attacking team then Fernandinho needs to be ahead of Rodri, otherwise Walker starts at RB and one of the other 2 is on the left.

Why Foden and Bernardo didn't start is beyond me. KDB is nowhere near match fit, yes he needs games but not at the expense of results, especially when a win today would have pretty much sewn up the title.

Pep sees the derby as just another game, he is emotionally removed from it. Our big performances in the derby under Pep only come when something is on the line, if he perceives them to be a threat or they stand in the way of glory.

Today was evidence of this, the lack of desire in that last 30mins was obvious, seemed to be treated as a free hit and about getting minutes under the belt for certain players.

Liverpool have proved this season that you can't stand still. We need a world-class striker, a left back, and another powerful and creative midfielder. Raheem and Gabby have been magnificent but you have to keep driving the standards up.

When KDB was out we were magic, since his return I feel the team cohesion has regressed. We had something especial when he was out, Gundo must be fuming inside.

He must know himself he's badly out of form. Therefore you'd think he play it simple and complete safer passes to get his rhythm and confidence and his game feel back again instead of the eye of the needle stuff. Pep, who constantly reinforces the need not to give the ball away, should be drumming this into him. I don't think he starts for us atm either.

Even those weren’t coming off today. Kev is class and we need him back to his very best.

We as supporters can only judge on what we witness , from the outside looking in Pep got it wrong , he is not infallable and remember Pep might be a genius and the answer to all our prayers ,but he is just passing through this club for a few years , we are here for the duration, so i wouldnt have any issue having ten minutes with Pep and explaining what a Derby game means to me.
But i would probably leave the tactics to him :)

Pep is a passionate sort of guy - knows full well what the derby means to us.

We need to revert back to the proven win formula.

Since KDB has come back we only just scraped past West Ham,and Wolves,and on another day could have lost by 4,5,goals today.

We have just had a huge wake up call.

KDB does not just look unfit, he is looking really shit, and is constantly giving the opposition the Ball for quick counters in dangerous positions.

He needs Benching, and brought on for a few minutes here and there when games are won.

No way we carry on with this, or we could end up losing more games.

He does not deserve to start. He does not even deserve to come on as Sub based on recent shockingly bad performances.

He has turned in to a huge liability.

We have won nothing yet.
