no so ? its your last man and stopped a goal scoring chance your off simple
the keeper made a mistake and did not get the ball and took fodens leg and ankle ? the attempt to play the ball if their is a man covering the goal would save the keeper from a red ? foden stays up he scores a tap in without contact even if its attempt is seen to be made it stop a clear goal RED CARD ALL DAY LONG
Aaahhhh! Think i've spotted the flaw that explains it all...

Because we're so apalling at penalties, what is a seemingly open net for most, for us, wasn't in fact a clear goalscoring opportunity...

Of course...

Of course...

Of course...

The corruption on show tonight was on another level, Moss gave us nothing even blatant fouls and pushers. The penalty decision shows it is not just one referee but the whole lot of them. Probably on orders to give the scum every chance to catch us. But the problem is not VAR it’s the people using it, as the old saying goes a bad ( or corrupt) workman/referee blames his tools.
Some how this blatant corruption needs calling out by some one high up in the game. Why is it other sports can use VAR ?
Because other sports have genuinrly independent officials manning it and act in as transparent way as possible because they have nothing to hide - not even their own mistakes/shortcomings (which tend to be much less frequent without an agenda to push).

Whereas in the shady world of football, toxic masculinity and the will to win at all costs (even if it means cheating the system and integrity of the entire game) rules...

Strange game, fair play to Southampton for having a go and until our 3rd goal they were well in the game. Our defence is starting to leak goals again something that will need to be shored up for Europe. But another 3 points and of to Fulham we go.

VAR doesn’t work because it’s the same inept fuckwits in the studio who are also the reffing on other match days making the mistakes

it’s totally flawed

We used to have one clown on the pitch, now we've added a second scratching his arse in front of a telly.

If City are crowned Champions, then at the end of the season we should lobby football and use what influence we have to suspend VAR. Surely Manchester City and Pep Guardiola carry some weight in football?

I believe FIFA are trialing alternative offside algorithms so it seems to me that changes are afoot and naturally we know technology will have a growing influence in the game. VAR has failed, and next season, if fans are back, VAR is going to get more important. It's one thing experiencing a VAR delay on TV another when you are at the game.

I remember vaguely that the Premier Leaue clubs met towards the end of last season and there was reported to be a lot of unhappiness with VAR but they agreed to give it an extra 12 months to bed in. Surely now we have seen enough?

I can only think of one club who may like VAR and that is Man Utd. Why would any other football club be in favour of VAR?

He’s really antsy tonight. Is it because it was one of those performances that has cost us the champions league in the past? It can’t just be the penalty. Or has something else happened? He seemed grumpy before the game. I remember him bein like this a year or two ago and it turned out his family got pressure from the police about a Catalonia issue.

I suspect he has mostly just snapped about VAR but also clearly not happy about our own mistakes.

Don’t worry about the penalty decision, we’d only have missed it anyway!
Yeah, but we should still have had the pen without Moss 'n VAR chalking up a miss! We are entitled to miss it under our own steam. Won't be long before Rags n' Dippers are given goals without the ball crossing the line because the whistling wanker thought they should have scored.

Spot on from Didsbury Dave. Pep knows that individual mistakes of the sort we saw last night lose you games in the later stages of The Champs League. Lapses of concentration in most PL games can be countered by going up the other end and scoring or battering someone in the next game. In knock out CL you get fewer chances so you can't afford mistakes that cause goals against. His remarks about players were in interesting too. Kicks up the arse based mainly on mistakes last night for players he trusts such as Gundo, Walker and Bernardo but more serious doubts about a few - possibly Laporte and Mendy. Wonder what he thinks about Sterling and Jesus at present? Hope Serge can give us something before the end of the season, though I'm not sure he can, and I take back everything I've thought about Mahrez (well, for now at least!).

Even the notorious Peter Walton, on the penalty incident

”Moss made a clear and obvious error - the very thing VAR was introduced to correct. In this case it only made things worse.”

(The Times)
Wow, for that vitriolic little hateful prick to say that about that decision when it went against City is everything you need to know.

Not playing him and Bernie vs the scum was plain stupid. A lot on here called that before the game and it turned out as expected. I love Pep but it will take me some time still to get over that. But Pep doesn't see the derbies as anything special so there's that.
Could it not be that pep is ‘managing the squad and game time?’
The derby is important‘I agree!’

but the bigger picture -at least to pep ,is to get over the line in as many comps as possible?
He is doing ,and has done an amazing job ,
Let’s have a count up at the end of the season and see what we think then ?

let Utd have their 3 points -it will make no difference again ,as their last 3 victories against us at the Etihad have,

maybe they can mint a special ‘ we beat City trophy ‘ and they can play Leicester for it next week

Really really poor last night. We looked totally unbalanced for about 70 minutes of the game. Only the period after half time did we look anywhere near in control, adn yet we still conceded in that time.

Need to tighten up again.

One thing I will say though, is that in years gone by we would have lost or drawn a game following a defeat. At least we aren't that City anymore.
