I loved that team. That was my youth as well so a wonderful time.

And Forrest were brilliant at their peak
Football has evolved tactically and formation wise, but that mid-80s Everton team under Kendall was the best example of a traditional 4-4-2 I’ve seen :-

Southall
Stevens
Ratcliffe
Mountfield/Watson
Bailey

Stephen
Reid
Bracewell
Sheedy

Sharp
Heath

Used to want Everton to win Division 1 when we were in Division 2. A great team

I don't think the game is corrupt to any significant extent but I do think there's bias. There's bias in the way that the game is refereed and there is much much more bias in the way that it is reported.
If refs demonstrate any bias they are cheating. The LotG should be applied equally without fear or favour. They are not. I have said it before and I will no doubt keep saying it until the cows have come home, gone on holiday, had a sabbatical and come home again, that the LotG as implemented by PiGMOL's 'best' is rife with institutionalised cheating. They ref the game, go home, ne'er look at anything in the papers, go to a PiGMOL seminar where they congratulate themselves and each other on the magnificent job they are doing, aided and abetted by the most wretched application of technology the sports world has ever seen and they never bat an eyelid. Once upon a time yer got the odd ref admitting he'd made a mistake -not now. VAR is their foolproof get out, with the emphasis firm on 'fool'! I cannot see the game ever getting to the point where I feel that the LotG are applied, game in game out, tie in tie out, with scrupulous fairness.

Still in disbelief at last nights shit show from Moss and then Sky Sports doing their upmost to validate why the decision was given. Blaming it on Foden for keeping going, Tyler, Hinchcliffe and Dalglish’s daughter desperately coming up with reasons as to why it’s not a penalty. Someone said previously it’s like 1984 and we are being brainwashed what to think when it’s blatantly wrong,

The game feels like it’s being reffed from the commentary box, specially when you have Gary fucking Neville making them weird groaning noises every time a United player gets touched in the penalty area.

All day long

And I can assure you that fans of most clubs are cheering City on to win it instead of the same old brigade
It’s weird the reasons we have for having a soft spot for a rival team. I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for Everton as at school in the 80s we had the strictest, most hateful headmaster imaginable. He was a real old school hang em and flog em type.

But then one time Everton beat United 5-0 and at the next assembly on the Monday morning he walked to the front of the hall as usual wearing his gown and a stern expression, turned around to face a few hundred lads, and we all saw he was wearing a placard around his neck with “Everton 5 Fergie 0” on it. He never made reference to it but just proceeded to deliver the usual stern assembly to the school. It was brilliant and even though I hated him I always felt quite amenable towards Everton after that. Still do over 30 years later.

I thought Souness was great. Absolutely called it as it is - incompetence 1) for Moss not to have seen it, and 2) for VAR to back up his ineptitude - PiGMOL are making themselves look stupid. How the fuck Moss passes the refs fitness test, Lord only knows? Maybe VAR rules on that too?

Independent.

Can you imagine the headline in the Independent if United had won and were 14 points clear.

C*nuts!

Manchester City mini-wobble offers worries for bigger tests to come

Pep Guardiola’s side will win the Premier League but with the authority and control of earlier this season eluding them of late the Champions League knockout stages again could pose problems

first time watching the football show on sky.

its all fucking liverpool , about last night, lack of fans etc. Why are sky giving so much time to the champions league when they dont even cover it !!

oh City are next after the ad break lol, most companies would cover the product that they cover first , not sky thats cover a product we dont cover first the champs league !

I appreciate it’s cathartic to sound off on the biased coverage but we’ve all worked out why we are picked at and ignored. Maybe just enjoy the pain we’re causing. Perhaps the various broadcasters are saving their City coverage for end of season specials! When in all probability we win the Lge I bet North West Tonight play Blue Moon in the closing credits Whilst the presenters look on in reverential silence waving their candles.

I know it's fans generated but looking at the player ratings for last night of us and them on the BBC website.
Every player that started for the dippers was 7.5 and above, FFS top rated for us 7.44.
I watched the chumps match and if they think they are back I hope we draw them, they were still a country mile away from being good and only two players from full strength.

Same here only I missed the Liverpool bit so was pleasantly surprised by our coverage. As for "Gundogan from Etihadia"...no idea what David James has been smoking

Funniest thing ever was when Sourness ignored Dalgleishs woman when she was advocating “balanced views” then said Atkinson can only justify himself if it turns out he’d gone for a slash or was making a brew when the incident occurred
