Gio Kinkladze Documentary

Really looking forward to this .

My favourite player by some distance adored him he was that good with the ball at his feet it was joke .

He gets slated on here for taking us down what people don’t understand he was not playing with Hart ,Kompany, Toure and Agureo he was playing with a cross eyed goalkeeper, Kit Symonds , Clough and Creaney .

The performance against Newcastle is still best I have seen by any player in a City shirt add to that the goals against Oxford , Boro , Southampton and Wesr Ham especially West Ham cause besides the goal he was fucking brilliant for 30 minutes and no one could get near him .

I asked Willie Donanchie the week before we played QPR , why we where not playing are best player and had decent conversation with him he told he would start against QPR , I explained to him for all faults that he saw if he played after Port Vale we would not be in the position we found ourselves in ( he would have got us a point in the 7 games he was dropped for , people forget this when they say he got us relegated twice ) he promptly scored after 30 seconds .

I will always remember the buzz of the crowd when he got the ball especially on a good day and I don’t care what anyone says , even though we have had great/world class since , not one of them get the crowd at it like Gio did .

Good luck with the documentary

Kinkladze is God

Ha Ha still up in my house best present my ex brought me

Of all the shite players we've had Immel deserves a special mention, rewatching the highlights of that Newcastle game still makes my blood boil, a fucking cross eyed manatee would have saved two of their goals. Whatever fucking possessed the club to sign a fucking geriatric with the record for most Bundesliga goals conceded I have no idea.

Kinky and Quinn were a different class in that game though, such a shame we surrounded some great players with utter dross.

He was out of this world that day against Newcastle. Think it was 3-3
Still one of my fav games today. We had Gio, they had Phillipe Albert - it was magnificent to watch. It was like before the game the two teams just agreed to take it in turns to attack, just for a laugh. Wasn't even disappointed not to win; came out of the ground in a 'what have I just witnessed' daze...

I took a Swindon fan that was working on a site with us along to Maine Rd for a game against them. Kinky absolutely destroyed them and I’m pretty sure it finished 5-0? My mate just kept shaking his head at how good he was and wasn’t bothered about the score.

6 0 mate scored a belting a free kick and took the piss

Fantastic to watch. Amazing skills and was a diamond amongst a pile of fetid shit at the time.

In a way, think he was ahead of his time. What a player he could have been under Pep and on modern pitches.

Having said that felt he went missing too many times in big games and will never forget him for driving out of Maine Road in that left hand drive convertible Jag. For me that was the moment I knew he was leaving for Italy.

May have this wrong but didn’t he say something about his balance was due to taking dance classes as a kid?

6-0 I think, my daughters first game, downhill for years after that

It has been advertised on City tv that the Gio documentary is coming soon, for about two months now. Does anyone know when it’s going to be available.
Just been in touch with Luke the producer
It on the backburner at the moment as they have had loads of stuff on with Premier League & Champions League
They hoping to get back on it in the Summer

Had a quick chat with him once in the casino in Stockport (think it was Stakis casino then), he was in with Paul McGrath. Seemed nice enough fella, was the only reason I carried on turning up in the late 90's to be honest. It certainly wasn't to watch Darren Wassall and Ged Brannan
God we had some shite play for us.
Jason Van Blerk was another.
