Dont understand your problem, they are making it as difficult as possible for us to trade with the EU and for us to import goods from the EU, so doesn't look like we've got much choice the rest of the world still wants to trade with us
We’ve left the EU so it doesn’t get us very far bellyaching about EU rules. We’ve cut our cloth etc. I can see it’s frustrating for the fishing industry and farmers who threw themselves “under a bus” voting for Brexit.

I echo the views of several posters who’ve said it good to see case numbers go down. It will be great to see the number of vaccinations ramped up next week to increase the protection of our population. Hopefully, the rest of Europe and further afield get their acts together so we can achieve global protection from the virus.

I thought you were a facts man.
Take the beginning of the year as the approx start of the UK vac push, and the pound is over 5% better than the Euro.
The UK is seen as being far superior to Germany at the moment.
I think the strengthening of the pound against the euro reflects the covid problems in all of the EU (Eastern EU countries in particular) rather than zee Germans.
Uk may be seen as a better bet because of our superior vaccine roll out but we have serious brexit issues to cope with which are now becoming apparent.

Nothing to do with EU rules, they are just trying to make a example of us, I know it sounds petty but that's what it boils down to in my opinion (I'm probably wrong) and we've pissed them off with the Vaccine roll out, thank fuck we weren't part of that shambles they are making of it

5534 cases - fall of 1075 and nearer the Zoe app prediction earlier.

First week to week fall in a few days too. Was 6040 last Saturday

121 all settings deaths

A few of todays were old again (12 of the 118 England hospital not in February or March)

But also report one out of hospital England source not reporting today due to tech issues and will report tomorrow. But we are likely talking very small add on at weekends
Strange. The Zoe app has been 1.5 times actual cases for a while now, 2 times till December. I wonder why the change? Vaccinations? A huge number of LF tests?

No surprise with the shambolic vaccine roll out , apparently they are looking at June before they get anywhere near the levels of the US or Uk for daily vaccines administered . Just can’t see how foreign holidays will be going ahead this year , certainly not until September/October.

Certainly puts them in doubt doesn’t it.

Remember when many were criticising fellow brits for not adhering to lockdown rules whilst our European friends apparently all acted immaculate? I don’t see anyone now praising the general population for how well the vast majority have followed the rules, whereas in Europe there are protests, increased case numbers and a general lack of compliance leading to a surge in cases.
I agree.
My view is that the response of the UK people has been magnificent.
Of course there have been instances of non compliance and some have been significant but IMO we compare favourably to other countries.

You are totally wrong.
The EU are treating the UK like any other country that they have no trade deals with.
Suck it up.

It was a really good day for both the North West and Greater Manchester by the way. ::Lowest numbers for both in around six months.

And North West not top. Yorkshire well ahead today.

GM also had a borough with a single number of cases (9) for the first time since wave 1.

No prizes at all if you guessed it was Trafford!
Thought it might have been Bury.

Well that is one way of looking at it, but currency fluctuations usually front run GDP figures.
They really don’t. GDP measurement is over the course of the entire year not day by day currency fluctuations. Bear in mind the € is multiple countries as well not just Germany. Incidentally the £ is still miles off the € based on the last few years when it was 1.4€ to the €1.16 it is today.

The did quite a bit of tweaking of it a week or two ago. To try to fix the disparity.

Probably spouting rubbish, but was told a lot of people feeling really ill after 2nd jab , can’t see anything to back this up.

You want to dictate the rules to a Club you’re not part of. I wish there was a few more Clubs like that about. I would walk into the Legion and demand a Guinness for 10p. We are out so we abide with the rules of the game or we find the new markets / trade agreement that were promised by Bojo and Liz Truss. I don’t mean deals with tin pot republics either.

It’s brilliant the progress that is being made most of the time with the vaccine roll out but we won’t have real safety until the other Countries Brits are in contact with have safety too.

I agree with your comment in brackets.

No i don't, and i want every body in Europe to be Vaccinated as soon as possible, ok we aren't part of their club as you put it, but they are just being petty, how many lifes have been lost in the EU because of the miss information about the Oxford jab? And the club you obviously liked to be a member of are going to to carry on banning exports of the Vaccine to Country's that ordered them in good faith
