Liam Delap - Ipswich player 2024-25

£15m for Brahim
£13.5m for Angus Gunn
£9m for Pablo Maffeo
That was a great price for Gunn.
Thought it was nearer to £10m but still good.
Funny how he made no impression when he went to Southampton as I thought he was ok

Loved to see him in the Brighton team.
That's a great shout. It would be perfect for Delap to go on loan to a team that plays progressive football and Brighton can't buy a goal at present. He looks like a brilliant striker but these days attacking players have to be more versatile than they used to be.

Would like to see him included in our first team plans for next year and given some game time in early cup rounds. This would give him more confidence and who knows he could develop like Harland.

Give aguero a new deal and promote this lad he is a finisher he could be as good as haaland but he needs first team football he is taking the piss at reserve level.

Could be our own Harry Kane.

They share lots of similarities and given the right amount of game time, Delap might end up as good as him.

Give him a contract befitting his current, and future potential. Somewhere around the £20,000 Per week, and up to summer 2025.
We could then send out on a 2 year loan to other clubs (premier league or bundesliga). The reason I say 2 years, is that he will be far more likely to be played, and seen as part of the team than that of someone on a 1year loan.
Who knows, would Dortmund be interested? We could use him in part of any deal that may involve Erling Haaland.

Another hattrick but having just seen them, it's more men against boys stuff. Desperately needs first team mens football this kid.

Give him a new lengthy contract to show we value him and then find him an appropriate loan, I think a championship side playing good stuff that's expecting to fight for promotion would be best for him and then if he helps fire them into the Premier league, he can get another year with them in the Premier league. Talk of him getting into our first team is way too premature

Dortmund would not be interested in a loanee at all.

For them, a loanee is just taking game time from a player they could be developing to sell.

They have this wonderkid, Youssoufa Moukoko, who they had to get special permission to play as he's only 16, but he's played 13 games now and will be their next big project.

Haha as good as Haaland! Nice one

Yeah,i can see why many would see that as unlikely as Haaland is seemingly unique.....but Liam has only just turned 18,and he's ironing out his weaknesses and improving dramatically.Crucially even when playing poorly,he tends to score.

First team football,somewhere....will obviously be the real indication of his true potential.

To be honest he could be. When Haaland was his age, he was still in Norway, about to start a season where he got 12 league goals in 25 games. In Norway.

Some players just hit the ground running in senior football and never look back, and you don't know who's going to do it until they get a chance to jump in at the deep end.

I'd put money on Delap scoring 12 goals in Norway next season if we loaned him to Molde for whatever reason.

Part of the deal when you go to a big club's academy though, is you're probably going to be held back a bit. Foden would have been starting every game at 17 and been bought for stupid money 18 months ago if he'd come through at Lyon or Benfica.
