Totted it up quickly in my head there and its around £320m I make it?
Maybe they were talking euros

Either way, Chelsea had a bench recently that cost £360m and it wasn't mentioned anywhere. I'm sure United have had benches worth the same in recent months/years.
Nothing said about it and football fans of other clubs become deluded and actually believe they've spent nothing in comparison

It's so that they can sweep anything less than all four under the carpet like they did with out domestic treble, whilst also devaluing the quadruple (if we somehow manage to win such a monumental haul of trophies) with a snide little "Yeah, well they should ALWAYS win everything with all the money they've got/huge squad/multi-million bench/etc...etc...etc"
 
There'll be some outpouring of joy and mockery if we don't win the CL

Rival fans are setting us up for it. If we win it there'll be no credit given and if we fail it'll be the Fraudiola, still no CL trophy talk.

I don't even think its about the quad. If we win the league and CL no-one can or will criticise us

Totally agree. That Darren Fletcher is incredibly annoying and I wish he'd just STFU. He and BT are shaping this narrative where it's almost expected we're going to win all 4 trophies. Yeah we're looking fantastic but I expect Bayern amongst others are as well. I'm only thinking about Everton which will be tough. They're setting this agenda where if we don't win all 4 trophies it would be some sort of failure when in reality winning more than one trophy is a very successful season (and no one in the last 50 years has won all 4). TWATS

Always the way mate, I spent a large part of the 90's getting my only joy from the rags getting dumped out of the CL every year.
 
BBC at it again on the live page, choosing to publish comments about City, the quality of our squad and money. The sort of comments they never publish about other clubs who've also spent millions on players. Even one from a Manure fan who doesn't get the irony of his comment.

I pointed this out weeks ago.
They're covering their own backs the wankers.
But imagine...just imagine if we pull it off they will have nowhere to hide

Irish TV had Real v Atalanta on main channel. City were on a ‘plus’ Chanel. Probably because the red hoards over there wouldn’t watch us.

They were on my TV it was Virgin Chanel. City relegated to Virgin plus.
I’ll need to see if I can get RTE on my set up for future. Is it RTE 1 or 2 for football. Niall Quinn is pundit on virgin media.

Wrong, they were on RTE 2 the national channel. Free to view for licence payers. A night for the red hoards to turn to Sky golden era highlights.

Covering their own backs is exactly what they're doing... if it was to happen then BT (apart from the ex-City pundits) would just be saying we told you so whilst smiling through gritted teeth. I think it's extremely doubtful that for the "red history" teams they'd be looking to fly the kite so early and they'd just be going on and on about how tough the schedule was.
