Jack Grealish

I think we have depth at LB for how our current LBs play.

But... If Pep wants them to be wide in the future (Gosens, or Mendes) because he wants his LW (Grealish) to come inside, then I can see him going for that.

In our current set up I don't see Grealish as a wide winger, I mean he can, but I think some of his qualities get diminished a bit (like Foden), but he could perhaps a midfield role similar to how Gundogan has been playing lately, where he can be central and have moments of playing off the striker.
The beauty of a player like Grealish is that he can play across the line.

I think Pep is likely to mix things up as to who goes wide etc. Mendy still offers lots of possibilities as a wing-back.

At some point, we will need a "proper" new LB but, they need to be exceptional for us to bother and if such a cndidate is not available this summer, I think we'll cope but don't quote me!

Going back to Grealish, he's one of the few English players that I'd be happy to see us sign: I think he would thrive in our squad and he'd naturally up the entertainment factor.

Transfers are all about calculated risk and I'd be happy to replace the weakest of our attacking players with Grealish.

At the moment that could be anyone from Sterling, Jesus, Mahrez or Aguero (because of age/injury).

My preference at the moment would be to replace Sterling but if form reversed before the end of season I could be thinking it's Mahrez. Who knows. Fickle.

Zin is getting a new deal pal, so only Mendy in firing line.

It would make sense for us to buy Mendes from sporting then loan him back he is only 18, plus sporting from reports want him back no matter what deal on loan. So he gets a year in Portugal then comes straight into the city team the year after then when Mendy leaves.

I've thought for a while that Grealish would be a great fit for City. Would be delighted if we signed him.

He's a great player, really is.

Great engine and wonderful delivery. Made Rodri look way off the other week.

Contrary to media reports, people who know him say his attitude is first class.

I also wonder if Brexit might have something to do with this one, lot of clubs preparing for their academies to tail off with foreign talent set to be excluded until age of 18?

Might as well cover our arses for the next five years until things are more clear on that front.

Is he a left back though? Seen a few Sporting Fans suggest he is more like a left winger?

It would be smart if he's good enough, especially as as we Yan Couto for the right.

I really don't think our opponents and even some of our own fans realise what is coming down the pike?

We're seeing it already with Phil and the forward planning is now becoming clear.

Dias, Zin, Jesus, Couto, Delap, Doyle, Palmer, Steffen, Bernie, Torres, Stones and Laporte.

Add Haaland and the average age of our squad would be insanely young.

Messi would knacker the age profile!

Iv seen a couple of sporting games as its free to watch their league on tv. when hes played its been at LB and he reminds me so much of Cancelo, but is a better tackler. His close control and dribbling for a LB is ridiculous

What are you talking about?
This isn’t a whole squad.

Ferrán, Laporte, Walker, Jesus, Steffen etc would also be there as rotation options. This was just to show a “best” 11 that would change slightly based on form. Also unsure which way round Foden/Grealish would go (one on the left and one in the mid).

Ederson/Steffen/Carson
Cancelo/Walker
Stones/Dias/Laporte/Aké
Zinch/New LB
Rodri/New DM
Gundo/Bernardo/Grealish/Foden
Sterling/Mahrez/Ferrán
KDB/Jesus

Grealish has scored a grand total of 15 premier league goals, he would need to do more than "entertain"
So from me on balance, let him enteryain elsewhere.

Ah, that's grand. You're one of the prime wrong 'uns, people whose opinion is pretty much always at the wrong end of the dog. A big 'yes' from me, then.

Exactly correct. Grealish delivery isn't too far behind Kev's as it stands.

We haven't done too bad with recent signings from Villa have we?

Gaz Baz and Delph.
I'm not sure anyone would call these good signings if they cost over £100M though (This is coming from a huge Gaz Baz fan).
