United thread 2020/21

It’s genuinely funny looking at some of the cry-arsing on Red Cafe. They loved it when their financial power allowed them to dominate the league for nigh on 20 years, but can’t handle it when someone surpasses them. Suddenly the conditions that favoured them are now seemingly unfair. Like the worst school bully who eventually gets knocked out by a new kid. Fuck them.
My favourite analogy was of two brothers, I think I saw it on here so credit to whoever first posted it.

For years older brother beats on younger brother, chinese burns, stealing their stuff, pushing them down the stairs and hitting on their girlfriends. Then they go their separate ways, one staying at home and ruling the roost, the other goes off travelling.

A few years later they meet up. Big brother goes for the noogie, then stops dead in his tracks as he notices little bro has grown, got buff, chiseled jawline, stylish suit, and is a good half a foot taller than his sibling now.

Suddenly the idea of beatdowns and competing for attention is childish and uninteresting. Younger bro having the best clothes now and a stunner on his arm means nothing compared to high school prom night back in '99. However little bro got that money, it's obviously underhand and taints anything he'll do for the rest of his life.

Morale of the story, treat well those those who you pass on the way up, as no doubt you'll pass them again on the way back down.

United rested on their laurels, did not consolidate a position of power, and assumed they would always be top dogs. They had no plans for the long term, a crumbling training ground and stadium, and a system of leadership that takes more than it gives.

As you so eloquently say, fuck them :) They brought this on themselves through arrogance, ineptitude and greed.

And this is being generous with Slabhead

Looking at that list £72million will buy you absolute crap - kepa, pepe and havertz who tbf might come good. The other 2 look positively rag like!

I thought we'd paid £38m for Don Sergio and £54m for the ginger prince? Either way though the rags are in a league of their own for ineptitude!

This bollocks is insidious though and helped by the media. My pet rag mate was genuinely stunned recently when we got into the city/money discussion and I told him we'd never spent more than 60m on a player, and Aguero cost about 1/2 what pogba did.
This is one of the reasons why I'm not that taken by the club and/or supporters remaining silent or 'brushing it off', it cascades down to school level and we end up with threads like Didsbury Dave's, kids ultimately end up getting shit for it.

Remember when we prayed they would go out of Europe so we wouldn’t have to hear their shit in case they win it ? Prayed they would go out of the FA cup so we could just enjoy the final not really caring who won ?
Well every round we progress in the cups is knocking them sick at the thought of us doing the quadruple
They watch every game praying we lose so they can claim that loss means we’re not really that good

I don’t know a single City fan who says we will win the quadruple yet the day we go out of a cup we will get bombarded with messages saying “ haha where’s your quadruple “
That’s where their lives are at, the only thing they can through at us is not winning everything in a single season

they’re in pain, deep deep pain and I love it
It’s turning some friends I’ve known for a long time into nasty bitter cxxts as well

Ladies and gentleman....SER19 on RedCafe

"Become a joke now. Look at Everton, a very good team, absolutely shattered by 75 mins, while city have near half a billion on the bench and same as every week, pull away comfortably. Even pretending there's a level playing field anymore is embarrassing. Pundits going on that 'they never stop, they're relentless'. Why would they ever stop? Their team is fresh every single week"

"Its complete revisionism. They were very very ordinary again this evening and just completely wore Everton down. I don't think people grasp the difference it makes to have a stronger bench than most starting line ups and a fresh team every week."

"100%

Most players at most teams are performing way below peak. They're exhausted. City play a fresh core of team every week and patterns of games are the same. They actually should have had 4 in last 10 mins, Everton looked like playing on sand"

"In our game we looked absolutely shattered for last 15. Its so routine, watching guardiola now and you can tell even hes embarrassed trying to avoid the elephant in the room."

"Everton bench today: Tryer, Broahead, Onyango, John, Leban, Davies, Nkounkou, Davies, Keane

City: Ederson, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Aguero, Cancelo, Rodri, Torres, Mendy, Stones

Yeah, youre right, its not your problem. Its clearly Evertons failing to not compete."

"Its become embarrassing for English football. Forget United and their shit running, give city credit for spending 1.2 billion well. And then get on to discussing how Everton had any real chance of beating them. Or moenchengladbach or dortmund. They've essentially made one of 3 long standing domestic trophies absolutely useless 0."

"There's no contradiction here. He's bought and bought until he got it right. He's bought plenty of rubbish but it doesn't matter"

"Well he spent 200m+ on this

Ake
Angelino
Danilo
Mendy
Bravo
Nolito
Sane

That's off top of my head. Being able to piss away 200m helps your recruitment options"

Him on Sane being a flopped signing, someone questioned him his response

"Why did they sell him"
Love how the other Rags on the thread aren't even having his nonsense :D

As others of said they don't like ickkle citeh taking the piss out of them.

We could potentially erase every record they've made in history.

No wonder Gill, Pisscan and their other cheek of the same arse the Scouse are trying every obstacle off the pitch to stop us. We could make both obsolete in a generation.

Hopefully kelechi does the business against these today
I can see it now. Leicester will be all over them. United will get a goal out of nothing. And at some point, Leicester will have a goal disallowed. And the playgrounds (parents) up and down the country will be infested with those ill-fitting Sharp tops.

Quote - So the only players who were really flops and you could blame Pep for were Angelino and Bravo who cost a combined 25 million. now compare that to the utter shite the rags have bought for years, it's not even close.- unquote

Got to disagree with some of this, Bravo was instrumental in Cup wins, and many of the goals he conceded (from the opponents only/first shot allegedly) were one on ones so that could be down to dodgy defending on the day with the players we had at the time.
Regarding Angelino, there are some on here who would prefer him to Mendy (me for one) and didn't we make a profit on him.
That said we can reel off loads of rag shite over the years. They have indeed shelled out millions on some utter dogshit.

£12.2m profit on Angelino.
