This is not how they thought their lives would turn out back when they had every advantage in their favour. Just the opposite.
Hubris is a wonderful thing. After decades of boastful, preening, classless, sneering arrogance and entitlement, they are belatedly learning the hard way that a little humility and the character built by enduring loyalty in difficult circumstances goes a long way. And they have been found wanting.
They are living our lives in reverse. Glorious.
What really kills them is that after years of singing their ‘My old man’ cockney drivel, they know in their heart of hearts that nowadays, all their kids now really want to be City fans.

Well every round we progress in the cups is knocking them sick at the thought of us doing the quadruple
They watch every game praying we lose so they can claim that loss means we’re not really that good

I don’t know a single City fan who says we will win the quadruple yet the day we go out of a cup we will get bombarded with messages saying “ haha where’s your quadruple “
That’s where their lives are at, the only thing they can through at us is not winning everything in a single season

I have a rag on facebook exactly like this.... I am suspecting he cant sleep at night (given the times he is posting) due to worrying so much about likkle Citeh.

The thought that their "historic' treble maybe consigned to the bin is a thought he cannot bare. Yet in the next sentence is still claiming that he doesnt care about City....

There’s still mentions of the ‘when the sheik gets bored’ ilk.

After 13 years.
After accumulating multiple other clubs under the CFG banner.
After winning 11+3 major trophies from 3 different managers.
After considerable investment in the club’s infrastructure and the surrounding area.

but yeah, he’ll get bored ‘this’ year...

Any hope they have will be when pep leaves we will go back into the pack.

They got bored of not being able to lord it over everyone else long before the Sheikh ever will.
The whole FC Ego Trip of Moston scam still makes me laugh. Entitlement and cowardice cynically rebranded as rebellion.
Imagine being part of a fanbase that can’t summon the determination, fight and balls to oust an unpopular owner. Never mind us, even Blackpool and Charlton managed that

No they're not. Their 2020 revenue was just under £400m and their net profit was under £40m. So they've effectively spent 12% of their total revenue and more than their net profit on this deal, which is presumably why their share price plummeted last week.

Compare that to General Motors, who own Chevrolet and whose revenue is something like £100bn. Yet they still said £75m was too much and more than they authorised.

I can only assume they think it'll boost their brand recognition and thereby revenue.But if net profit margins are 10%, then you'd have to more than double your revenue just to cover the sponsorship. I just can't see it.

IT managers generally go through rigorous tender processes to select corporate software. They don't go "Ooh. They sponsor United so we'll buy that for our enterprise remote assistance solution".

Yes you are spot on I work in the IT business. Teamviewer is big and many uses it. But is not a monster company I just find this very very strange.
