Govt set to take over running of Liverpool according to report

There was more about this on the BBC local news last night. An independent report will be published around the time a decision is made on sending commissioners in. It seems like it is very wide ranging and looking at possible corruption & mis management across all major departments within the Council.

I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised to hear that organised crime groups are heavily involved.

I know if you want a job with the council you don't fill in an application form you simply get your relative (daughter) who already works there to sort it.

Some of my work colleagues have done the same **** trick and encouraging others to do it.

With your point about corrupt scousers I too have witnessed this and had the blowback from not supporting it within an organisation.
 
Liverpool is a very, very strange place. I actually think the Scousers are right - they are another nation. It's almost impossible for an outsider to understand their 'culture'. It seems to combine all the worst elements of the Welsh, the Irish and the Northern English, but even that is a gross simplification.

If any Council in England is corrupt, I would bet good money that this one is. Your problem is that the whole city is corrupt too, full of gangsters, rogues and scallies.

I feel sorry for whatever poor sod is put in charge. I tell you in all honesty, I would not do the job for less than 500k a year, with a peerage and the Garter at the end of the term. Being Prime Minister would be a piece of piss by comparison.

The report is being published today but the summary Robert Jenrick is giving Parliament right now is that Liverpool City Council is "as bent as fuck".

Scratching my head here that one of the most corrupt MPs has been put in charge of privatisation of Liverpool Council services. I bet he's pulling his cock off thinking of all those bungs he'll get whilst destroying the City which has been the bane of the Tories for centuries.

Or we should threaten that, for each illegal migrant who lands, we'll retaliate by sending 10 scousers to the country they originally came from. The countries would soon close their borders tight.
