TV Series

I did consider that, but have decided to watch it in the same order as everybody else....... if I get that far.

Give it a few episodes, before you judge it.

Also, not watches Ozark myself, but seen plenty of comparisons made, so i imagine you will too while you are watching it, having just finished it.
Remember thet BB came first.

Don't agree mate. I know BCS is the prequel but the whole thing is much more intriguing if you watch BB first. Not sure it would work the other way around.

I get that, I do.

Kinda covered it all on the list thread, was outnumbered and Rob has decided already anyway. Was just my last throw-in.

Don't think that because I've decided to start with BB that I'm ignoring your comments - I appreciate them mate, I really do. I reckon it was more like 50/50 in terms of where to start. All this TV discussion (like the books, films and music) has been great and one of the things that has kept me going in lockdown.

I realise that BB is much older than Ozark and will bear in mind "who got there first" if I spot any similarities. I can definitely recommend Ozark, though - whilst there was a bit of a dip in S2, S3 was outstanding. The storyline, characters and look of the show is first rate.

Ozark is definitely on my list. The only reason I haven't started yet is i'd rather watch it all when the final one is out, instead of having to wait, and i believe the 4th is the last one. When it first came out, I thought it was too soon for a 'breaking bad' type series for me, and I was already on BCS. I also wasn't sure if it would last. when S2 came out, I almost went for it, but s3, thought may as well wait and watch it all.

Re watching BB first, that came from my own experience of both. As i said, I prefer BCS, and i feel i'd have enjoyed both that much more if I had the chance to watch them chronologically.
But as the final season of BCS is not out yet, my own logic would prevent that, as I'd have to wait, where as by the time you get through both, you'll be that much closer to its release.

Enjoy.

I hadn't realised there had been any discussion on it - was just throwing my 2p thoughts in. There's no right nor wrong way I think.

I maybe should have said 'I' kinda covered it all. That was meant to be a 'not going to bore anyone repeating this' rather than, 'this discussion is over' tone.

He says, as he bores everyone with it.

The flight attendant. We binged it this weekend. Really enjoyed it. Very strange but good.

Is it a comedy? or something else?

I spotted it, was mildly inteigued but couldn't work out what to expect.

Seconded. Watching BCS and seeing the BB back story building was intriguing. I agree that the 1st series takes a while to get going. For me it was partly because I know the huge leap that is yet to be made from young Jimmy to peak Saul. That said the early episode where he's negotiating down from having the young lads being killed to just being knee capped or something similar is brilliant

Marvellous first episode, I grant you.

Jimmy (talking to the skateboarding blackmailers and pointing at his car), "Does this steaming pile of crap say pay day to you"? "The only way that entire car is worth 500 bucks is if there's a 300 dollar hooker sitting in it".

Finished S3 of Ozark last night. I thought this season was superb throughout - a real ratcheting up of tension and can't wait to see where they take it for the 4th and final season. Onto Breaking Bad tonight to see what all the fuss is about.
Ozark is very high on my list of favourites. I've been a big fan of Jason Bateman since Arrested Development.

The storyline, the fact that you can't really predict where it's going, the character development and the cinematography are all absolutely top notch.

As for breaking bad comparisons - I never really got BB. Watched about 3 series and never really got the hype

That cinematography in Ozark is superb, as is pretty much everything about it.

Must admit, 3 episodes into BB and I'm struggling to see why it's so highly rated. I'll persevere for a little longer.
