I believe this could well be the case.

That makes tonight disappointing on multiple levels. No more Aguero, no Messi, and spunking the best part of £100m on a soon to be 26 year old who has less experience than Foden and plays in the same position as all our best players and best prospects.

Aguero staying would not have prevented us from signing a striker. I think this just makes it more likely that we'll get someone like Grealish in as well.

Think it would have. Keeping 3 strikers happy is absolutely impossible when we play with 1.

There’s no way city announce this without already having other options set up. There’s another little Argentinian who’s available to talk to other clubs knocking around

It could be that he has already signed a pre contract with Barca and being the shit stirrers that they are, ala Mancini sacking, were going to announce it

And do you know what, given their ages, I’d rather have Haaland and Grealish for next season, no hesitation, despite the legendary status of Messi and Aguero. I’ve always loved that City take a long term approach with the majority of our signings. That set of deals just cements us as being vastly superior to Barca right now. They are clinging onto the past whilst we surge into the future.

Well, looks like we'll effectively be seeing the biggest free transfer swap deal in history, Aguero for Messi.
