It’s no more embarrassing than it is arrogant when people were saying “it’s done” when we still needed 20 points (which was happening), or even 11.

It just means some people worry more than others.

Football is unpredictable. Nothing that’s gone before now matters towards what’s coming. City could just as likely end the season how we started it, as much as we could end the season winning every game.

We’ve displayed both extremes of brilliant and terrible over the last two seasons. When it really mattered last Summer we were unforgivably shit against Arsenal and Lyon, and we started this season terribly; we also finished second in the league and won the EFL Cup last season, and went on a 21 game winning run this season.

Either City, or neither City, could turn up to end this season. We could get 11 points in our reaming six games like we did in our opening six games and just get there on the final day, we could win every game and smash it, we could be somewhere in the middle. Nobody knows.

I’m not particularly worried, myself. I’m still quite calm but also realistic because it is definitely not done yet. Doesn’t matter how many points clear we are or what the odds are at the bookies; it’s never done until it’s mathematically done.

That's the point though, even if we have an end to the season as bad as the start and United have a perfect record from now on we still win the league.

That's how comfortable it is.

Us not winning the league is as likely as Leeds or Villa will finish top 4 but no one on here would dream of saying that is a possibility as they have some objectivity.

I bet there is more confidence of the rags winning the league on here than there is on redcafe ffs.

They will win all their remaining games. You could see today they think they can win the league now.
We had the chance to close the door, pretty much, yesterday but we took victory for granted against a decent counter attacking side and gave them the incentive.
They will piss the Europa league and can afford to attack the premier league games because they've got enough up front in reserve and will destroy shit opposition.
We chose to rest players because we face a good Dortmund side on Wednesday and, should we get through, we will have to rest players again.
However we have seen those coming in are not good enough/playing well enough to win without 3 or4 of the key players being in the team.

Very unlikely

The Champions League needs binning starting from next season.

Only focus on domestic competitions.
Why do that, stop flapping and enjoy the ride. We might lose on Wednesday but so what, at least we tried. The day we get like liarpool (but slightly bigger) is the day I'm out.

That just says it all

This is today's reality. Forget our 8 point lead, it means fuck all. The rags are getting 84 points. Their only hard games on paper are Leicester and Liverpool and I don't see them troubling them. That means we need to win three and draw one of our six remaining games, that's if our goal difference stays superior. Suddenly, from coasting, that's a bit of a pressure situation. We've also got three cup games minimum to play too, more if we're successful in those games. I'm even more annoyed now losing to a ten man newly promoted club yesterday. The rotation/resting has backfired because it now means we can't do it for later games probably. Well we can but we risk blowing the league if we make as many changes as yesterday.

yep! Far too many changes yesterday and we paid the price unfortunately! Could have started stronger and then made changes if comfortable

Hypothetical but humour me.

If we lose to Villa and it’s 5 infront with 5 to play can we panic then?...

I agree with you. I’m quite calm, personally, I just don’t mind it when people get worried as it’s just different personality traits coming through.

We definitely don’t rest 7 players because no matter how good we are changing that many against a very dangerous team who went toe to toe with us last year is fucking stupid and all it has done is just put pressure on us when it was not needed and if we do win the title this season we better sign a top striker because next season will be very difficult as both Utd and Liverpool and Chelsea will strengthen and one of them could have haaland up front .

We didn't rest 7 players. We rested 3.

I suppose if we go out on Wednesday at least it means we can concentrate on finishing the job off in the PL.
