Aint going to replace the PL or even change it.

There is bigger money in elite football than what Uefa wanted to share between top clubs, thats what it boils down to.
Looking at the numbers the difference was quite big.

Today is football's Brexit. Much like that was decades in the making, in the shadows, in the corridors and homes no-one shone a spotlight on, this has been brewing since 1992, once greed got a hold and money got involved, year after year they have gripped more and more power and now they've have taken the soul out of the game.

For once, I feel genuinely Rascallian in my desire to see this particular capitalist system fucked. I don't care that we're eating at their trough, I'm not, we aren't, the fans aren't, the people aren't.

We live in a world where children can't even believe in fairy tales anymore. The club can parade City in the Community all it wants, I feel the very large presence of the ghost of Maine Road tonight. Blues are turning in their graves tonight. I guess tonight the mantra has actually rung true, we're not really here. Not anymore. Covid took us away physically from our club, and now even if we dare to go back, the heart has been taken out and the spirit has gone. City will play in empty stadiums and maybe even lift the title at home if they don't bottle it. How fitting that will be for them. I use "they" and "them" very deliberately. They are not us anymore.

People condemn and criticise my posts on a daily basis, but if you ever wanted to see into the heart of the man, that's all I can give you.

This doesn't look like a bluff. I presume what will happen now is that the PL will be bought off in some way either by being promised a bundle of cash or some sort of link to the ESL. The biggest issue here is surely the closed nature of the proposed ESL. It is hard to see how that is sustainable.
Despite all the rhetoric the PL will want to keep the big six clubs. Perhaps they can do some sort of deal which still allows qualification on merit from the PL to the ESL.
The proposed ESL format is clearly better than the proposed CL format which is just totally absurd. Personally I think UEFA is finished and I am not shedding any tears. But I just can't get my head round the fact that City have done a deal with the Cartel cockroaches. If someone else was running the proposed ESL then I would at least be open to considering it as an option as long as the status of the PL could be protected in some way.
But I think City have thrown their lot in with the ESL because it is clear UEFA is finished. UEFA is just too corrupt to continue as a governance body. There is no point flogging the dead UEFA horse. I am not supporting the ESL idea in its current state but neither do I support the simplistic bollocks put out by Gary Neville. Let's see what happens next before we all jump off a cliff.
