Pep commented last week he was pisses off city were playing virtually every mid week as well as weekends. He'll welcome this like Franco walking down Las Ramblas.

Maybe some of our academy players will get more games now though (he says looking for a silver lining).

This and then the heading ban.

Maybe home games in UAE if this goes the full course.

The lack of ‘European’ prefixing ‘Super League’ is interesting - I can see the clubs transcending Europe and being franchised, based in the States; Tampa United FC or New York City FC vs Real Madrid etc.

Old Trafford is falling apart, the Etihad belongs to the council, and the local fan bases aren’t likely to be able to attend matches at full capacity for a couple more years anyway yet, so what’s the point staying here?

The absolute elite players have always swerved Manchester clubs because they couldn’t be arsed living here; that’s going to be a massive disadvantage to both in terms of competing with the other Super League clubs for players - Chelsea - even Spurs and Arsenal - will have the upper hand if they’re equally financed, being able to offer London to entice the mercenaries.

Being based in New York or Florida instead would be a game changer for the Glazer’s and ADUG - they could legitimately rival the Spanish giants in terms of lifestyle and environment, and pull in the likes of Messi, Mbappe etc, while utilising the superior sporting and commercial infrastructures in the US.

I feel UEFA and the PL have to be strong on this matter and cut their nose off to spite their face for the long term benefits.

As a business economic decision, it is crazy to expel the clubs who bring in a vast majority of your finance. You would weaken your competition and ultimately become second rate.

However, the ESL will start off at 10 games, then expand to 18 then 24 until eventually you have a fully fledge 38 game competition.

So the PL and CL have a huge decision to make as if they do allow it on a hybrid model the ESL will take over naturally.

Expel them now, get the vast majority of people on your side with your decisions and there’s a chance the ESL falls flat on its face and they all come crawling back.

They cannot allow them to build a brand and history otherwise it’s game over.

The new Super League rules limit spending on wages and transfers to 55% of total income. That is effectively FFP.
Hopefully the club has a plan in place to succeed. Can you really see KAM sleep waking into another FFP fiasco?

They’ve come up with something which has completely out-manoeuvred us by the look of it. I think in relative terms we’ll lose some of our competitive advantage here.
All that goes to prove, is that it’s football that’s dead. Even if I wanted to support City, I couldn’t support football anymore.
Ill cancel my NowTV sports packages next month.

JP Morgan financing it says it all for me. Coincidentally I just watched The Big Short on TCM.
Fraudulent and Corrupt is what comes to mind.

Perhaps City had no choice but I can’t see how they think they will all of a sudden be part of the clique.
