It’s about football in general and Neville is happy living off the back of the rags and owning a football team himself fucking up the league pyramid but doesn’t like it when someone has the audacity to tell him to fuck off.
Why though?I’m wholeheartedly against the ESL, but they’re getting a bit sickening now
I think of the 12, City and Chelsea are the only ones who could feasibly back out. Italian and Spanish clubs are broke desperately need the cash. Same for Arsenal, United, and Liverpool. Spurs have way too much too lose, no idea how many reacharounds Levy had to give to nab them a spot.I don't think there's any way the rags or dippers can get away from this. They're all in. Chelsea could gazzump us I guess.
We're not bankrolled by anyone at the moment. And Abu Dhabi is tinpot compared to the UK if you want to run a book on it.We're bankrolled by a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family, who also support stoning gay people.
There's a huge difference between a club having questionable funding and a group of clubs trying to literally destroy football for their own personal gain.
And in the background they'll get big decisions in their favour from UEFA.I think when they announce the predictable U-turn then there will be a collective sigh of relief and will be soon forgotten.
As a matter of interest if we leave the Premier League where do we go ? Championship, Divsion 1 ?
You cant run a football franchise (see what I did) playing 20 games a season.
No bricks?I was all behind James Milner’s comments, but James, Liverpool don’t get to say “I feel the welcome our bus got was unfair”.
I hope they stand firm and then we have to back out. I'd rather play West Ham, Leicester, Wolves etc... every week than European elite. I'm not losing the Premier League for the fucking Super League.
At least we can go to the away games in the Premier League!
Yes, it’s to be played alongside the domestic league, not a replacement. But with possibly 20+ games it leaves no room for domestic cups and UEFA competitions.I’ve read hundreds of pages of this thread today and there’s still something I just can’t get my head around.
15 founders that never get relegated but 5 that can right?
So, they get 5 teams to make up the 20 (let’s imagine they’ve got their 15), who potentially cause a shit storm with threatened sanctions from their own leagues on leaving and put themselves at risk of relegation if they don’t perform?
Will their respective leagues welcome them back with open arms like long lost sons whilst preparing to wave off the next lamb to the slaughter?
Who willingly signs up for this in their right mind?
This is potentially every 1st tier league in Europe held to ransom by welcoming back the failures at one time or another!
Am I missing something?
The government will be paid off for this. Then you go with it and pray that regulations come in from the government etc...
Fans of the big 6 come together and turn their back on the 'Super' league. We can't half arse this one.
Doubt it. We do that and the SL crumbles but within a few weeks we'll be the bad guys again and the media will be sucking the rags and dippers off. Whatever we do, we aren't going to win in the eyes of the media and the public they influence. If we're lucky, we might get a few weeks off.City have a great opportunity here. Do the right thing and almost overnight the hatred of who we are and what we represent will change.
Is this on Sky Q mate?Florentino Perez will be speaking on El Chiringuito TV in 10 mins about the ESL. So there should be some more infuriating quotes to read before bed.
What is ‘the right thing’ in this context?
Pretty much sums up everything...The actual format of the ESL is likely to be very similar to the new CL. I don't object to whether I am playing Real Madrid and Barcelona in the ESL in midweek, or the same sides in the CL in midweek. It's the same football teams but its the qualification that's crucial. That closed shop ring fences a cartel. I hate that idea. It will damage the game in a short period of time.
Are you genuinely this naive? So because they work for Sky - they’re not allowed to disapprove of this proposal ?
You think these two actually want this Super League ? Which would pretty make them the only people who do.
the truth is, they have lived there whole lives in football, they’re passionately involved and just like everyone on here - they don’t want it ruined.
We would have to apply to The FA to be reinstated and we would be put in the 5th teir of English football if accepted. The National LeagueAs a matter of interest if we leave the Premier League where do we go ? Championship, Divsion 1 ?
