I hate to burst the optimists bubble here, but there is only 1 cunning plan by our owner.... that is to take us into this ESL and make shit loads of free money by destroying our sport.
There is no 2nd thoughts, or 11th hour coup de'tat happening to take our breath away, to bring back our admiration for the MCFC suits.
This kind of development ONLY gets announced when folk are 100% behind it. Checked all the ups and down sides, had the bean counters work shit out and run it by all the main movers and shakers. Even will have squared it with the sponsors.

No, we are fucked, fuck, fucked!!!
Life comes at you fast doesn’t it.

Sorry but I just do not buy this being a 4D chess manoeuvre from our owners being 50 steps ahead of everyone else.

They panic joined over fear of being left in the dust and then pulled out once they realised the backlash and the whole project not being tenable. Don't go giving them credit for being some genius strategist for a stupid decision they made and backed out on.
This. Will leave a sour taste for me for some time

Not sure if previously mentioned as the thread is moving so fast.

However, Sky are reporting that Chelsea want to leave the ESL asap, whereas City are being reported as we do not wish to join.

So did Chelsea actually sign up for it, whereas we just accepted the invite but did not actually sign?? (kept our powder dry)

Dunno, but at least we got to the right decision

If this doesnt go ahead Real and Barca could be in big trouble (huge debts, unlikely to get more government aid, and key players getting to the twilight of their career so minimal resale value). I say good.

Just a thought, to prove they value us fans and it's not all about making more money how about a reduced price season ticket for the pain and stress they have caused me? Or buy a pint and get one free!

Are we getting carried away or have we actually pulled off the greatest Trojan horse of all time? Are we just trying to fill in the gaps with something that makes us come across better and more strategic, or is this actually what happened? If we only got invited late, it doesn’t strike me that we’d have had the time to concoct such a strategy? We probably cocked up and have now tried to make the best of the situation.

Looks like the thing will be disbanded tonight. If those greedy cunts try to take some moral victory or act like victims they can all fuck off.
This is where UEFA need to actually start taking control of the game back from ALL clubs - that can start by removing protected draws for any club in UEFA comps

They are totally aware of the internal members of its boards who were involved - they should not be allowed to serve as an acting member ever again

And then they need to reform the newly proposed CL format so that it does remove the protection of the old G14 cartel mafia bastard clubs

The onus is now with ceferin to act accordingly - I hope that they do not revert to type as they have done in the past - a lesson should be learnt from what has happened and UEFA need to understand that the clubs they chose to protect have just tried to royally shaft them - and probably will do again at some point

As I said earlier - the damage is done, if this (pulling out) was to happen then the previous working relationship that the clubs had with UEFA should not be allowed to continue

Any thoughts this was the plan is complete and utter fantasy land. Let's not start with the perhaps city were the good guys all along crap. we were all in it, we've bottled it thankfully and that's saved us from the brink but we were still in, we've destroyed our credibility across the globe which is irreversible and by backtracking have made 10 billionaire mortal enemies that really will be out for revenge. This was never the plan.

There’s always someone with a half empty glass. Believe in magic - it’s much better for your health.

seriously though, why not cut the owners some slack after all they’ve done for the club & Manchester - and give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, you know no more than anyone else about what actually happened
