How are we all feeling about our club today?

have you thought maybe we set the yanks up on this? That our owner and chairman finally found a way to show the world what the yanks and big corrupt super clubs were like finally? I personally think there was something going on behind the scenes with us and UEFA to set these guys up hence cerefin being so positive in his statement about us? Plus the rags etc have all lost their place on the board of UEFA? So the main people who tried to get us banned for years, changed rules to suit are now all out of power with UEFA?! Not a coincidence imo.

Exactly this

It genuinely blows my mind that some fans feel exactly the same about the Club after what has happened over the last few days.

What the club tried to do here was shit on 100 plus years of history and tradition. They showed that they don't really give a shit about their 'legacy' fans (for legacy read the fans who have stuck with the club through all the bad times), the very fans who they said were one of the main reasons they bought the club. They showed that they don't give a shit for football as a whole, forgetting where all clubs (and in particular City) have come from).

I can understand wanting to forgive & forget (hell, that's what I want to do) but for many fans I suspect there's going to have to be some serious bridge building by the club.
Are you seriously telling me they didn't know what the backlash would be and that it wouldn't exactly sound like music to their ears? Ask yourself that question then think about why?
Too many Corinthians (or maybe Corbynites) who sanctimoniosly think our owners should act as paragons of propriety in a tank full of sharks and crocodiles. Like it or not football is and has been a dirty business. Just look at the last 30 years with the PL and CL. That doesn't mean I like it to be that way but I'm grateful we have owners who are clever enough to give predators a punch between the eyes.
In an ideal world a German type model would be much more acceptable and indeed I have advocated for it in fanzines many bluemoons ago. Fans do matter ...more than anything, but they understand the machinations and the majority will be be both indignant yet sanguine and pragmatic.
Just think of this before launching into fits of self flagellation
We didnt start the fire

If this was some grand scheme. It’s got to be the most I’ll conceived/ poorly thought out plan ever. Your grasping at straws and trying to put a positive spin on this

showing the world what the yanks are like, by joining up to their scheme?

If we were the Trojan Horse that bought the whole shitty house of cards down there’s plenty of fucking posters on this forum that will need to write their own apologies to the owner and board.
What a entitled, judgemental & sanctimonious bunch of victims we are!

A bit like going back out with an ex that cheated on you. Confused, feeling sick but hoping there is a future despite everything.
I’m holding out a bit longer before I decide really.

There’s no way on Earth I’m asking al Mubarak and Soriano to get their balls out so I can give them a tickle to say thanks for not going into this ESL.

At the moment I don’t really know what to think of City.

Never mind what they’ve done to the fans, which we’ve all been talking about none stop for 72 hours; we still need four wins before we win the Prem, we have the EFL Cup final on Sunday and then the CL semis to come... and the club have probably taken the team’s focus away from where it needed to be.

The football men at City have worked so hard to get to this position, working through a pandemic in front of no fans, this is wholly unfair on them!

There’s a reality that no matter what we win this season, it’ll be overshadowed by all this now! I’m certainly feeling less excited about these upcoming games, and they were already about 90% less exciting because of not being able to attend them!

And we’ve heard nothing from anyone at the club apart from someone in marketing who types press releases for the club website. Not a dicky bird from people who claim to have the best interests of the club and fans at heart. Even those wankers at Arsenal have apologised!, but City?..NISH!

No
Why not just not enter the league in the first place.
We were carried in, thinking we'd be lefytbehind.
The German teams delayed their decision, as we should have done

Fine. I expect the owners and board to make decisions that will broadly benefit themselves and the club and I don’t always expect to agree with them.

The point here though is that the owners and board agreed with the concept of a European franchise league even if they had doubts about the execution. If UEFA give it backing in the future then City will sign up for it, as will all the big clubs, even those who sat it out this time around.

Good points but the degree of hurt depends on what expectations you had In the first place.

Football‘s a dirty business and we weren’t bought for altruistic reasons. We’ve gone along with progressive commercialisation, globalisation, commoditisation, monetisation and any other “ation” you care to think of. It propelled us to the top of the compost heap.

As fans we’ve mostly enjoyed it, albeit with a few conscience twinges and moans.

Lots of Blues will feel let down and rightly be more wary in future. But we’ll mutter into our pints rather than cancel TV subscriptions or season tickets or go and support Stockport County.

And that’s what the owners know they can count on.

Those expecting a full explanation from the club are in for a major let down, they’ve already briefed they can’t comment for legal reasons.

Personally I’m pretty sure they did the right thing here.

Approached on short notice and told to get in now or never, saw it wasn’t airtight so stepped in, then worked with UEFA to tear the whole thing down from the inside once the greedy cunts gave up every seat of power they held at Uefa.

I trust our owners. Whether you liked it or not, I ‘m sure they acted in the best interests of MCFC here and the outcome has been good for us now our rivals have been decimated by this.

can’t comment for legal reasons? Why have arsenal released an apology then.

Baffled. How could Khaldoon and the others misjudge matters so badly?
I don't accept the idea that we were acting clever to get one over our enemies.
A full statement from the Chaiman is required. I mean "full", not some honeyed words but coming clean on the sequence of events and the decisions made. Who made the decisions and why?
CFG's business model is unique in its global nature. All that was jeopardised, as the jewel in the crown risked being sidelined.
Baffled. Over to you Khaldoon, speak up.
He did, in his previous interview...
"Those in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones"
That was a clear enough message to me.
