City were gilding the lily a little on the Kompany narrative, as they simply couldn't afford to pay the money for Maguire.

Which is a bigger concern that they actually thought Maguire was a right option in the first place!!

The landscape obviously changes all the time, I don't see two or three established names still being around in the next couple of years, which will still give pathways to the youngsters.

There is a lot of talk at City about the fear for Brexit and what rules might be passed in the near future.

Academies are having to revise their plans because they are budgeting for a vacuum of not being able to bring in foreign talent until at least the ages of 18, although I am not up to speed on that.
Would CFG respond by exporting the Academy concept globally or is that not a problem?

We selling Sane again are we?

Why do people keep saying Sane...we sold him last summer and that money was already gone after getting Dias, Ake, Torres etc.

No it wasn't. We didn't book the Bayern money and held it over until this current financial year.

That's why our losses were announced so high.

Because the money wasn’t booked last summer, due to COVID pushing the season past the usual end of season books. Some other CL money wasn’t booked either, it seems.

I’m going to go off what City have said…much as I trust the Certified Accounting firm of Dewey, Cheetham & Howe on here.

So:

sane £49m
Otamendi @ £15m
Angelino @ £18m
Jack Harrison @ £10m
Braaf @ £9m
Porro @ £8m

at least £110m ish already in sales to go through the books at much better profits for the books? Am sure lots of loan players will move on for 2-3m each as well so certainly wiggle room in the funds and accounting.

That brings our losses from last season into line with other teams, as we were about £100M DEEPER in the red than them.

Plus some big salaries off the books with Leroy, Nico, Sergio and probably Ferna. Factor in the potential write off of the Sancho clause and that would cover even the worst case figures being talked about for Haaland.
