The whole article is based on the ongoing false premise that City is owned by a state. If that fake narrative crumbles then the whole basis for the Guardian's relentless political attacks on our football club and its owner is shattered. Not even UEFA have alleged we are "owned by a state." For that to be true all the independent auditors, lawyers, all our major investors (who have to do due diligence), who have scrutinised our finances for 13 years, would all have to be in on a conspiracy.
And yet still the hate-filled coverage continues from sections of the English press who are convinced that Sheikh Mansour has bought football clubs across the world and created the CFG just as a "sportswashing project." Surely, after last week's ESL farce, it should be clear to even the morons at the Guardian that our owner has the same motives as most other multi billionaires....he wants to get a return on his investments.

You mean Inspector Clouseau ;-)
He nows whet he ment you lunatic

We all surf the internet and I check on what the opposition are saying about us but there's one thing surfing and reading the football news / opinion, and there's another commenting and appending your opinion to Guardian football reports even if you are objecting. You just create a virtual hangout and you fulfil their objective. They want an engaged pool of football fans organised around their website so don't give them what they want

Many media outlets court Man Utd and Liverpool armchairs because they represent £££ but the Guardian differs by being a campaigning media organisation which supports the ideals of liberal capitalism, hence we offend them doubly because our owner is an Emirati.

Still struggling to see why we the tactic of disengaging should be applied exclusively to the Guardian

Reading back the last few pages, and am astounded at the british press attitude in a world of political correctness, and also, most seem only interested in peddling their own bias veiws without considering the actual football itself.

Most of the writing and content re football is at a level that would only appeal to the most easily pleased red fans and has no genuine angle or approach to make interesting reading for most.

This has made me consider their plea to #buyacoffee, they need to pitch this begging at a level equivalent to the value of their content, and I am convinced that even the chicory based "camp coffee" brand(and disgusting to drink) my late dad used to buy is way more enjoyable than reading the fare on offer in their rags. Why even the cheapest own brand instant is way out of their league.

They should ask us to sacrifice something of the same value as their work, unfortunately as the farthing went out of circulation a long time ago, thats going to be extremely difficult for them.

Nice to see granada actually showed Pep talking about Cryuff even if they spent more time on the return of Jason Robinson.

Turned over for the end of the 6 o clock news. News story on soon to ex Wales manager family man by professional arsehole dan roan. Thought there might be something on an English team in a European Cup semifinal. We really aren't really here!

BBC nw less than 30 seconds build up. Wonder if our debt ridden neighbour's game will make the bulletins tomorrow?

Oh well at least Annabel Tiffin's presenting tonight and I'm a fan of her work! True fact I only discovered the existence of Blue Moon through a Google search of Tiffin.

C'mon the lads tonight! Let's hope all those media so n so's will self combust with spite if we have a good game.

It's true but how incredible that they would virtually ignore the biggest match of the season so far and the potential for an all-English CL Final. SKY are just not credible any more. They are fast becoming as irrelevant as the BBC which has almost no coverage of the country's biggest sport at all.
The amount of time devoted to football on the BBC, the nation's broadcaster, is absurd. The bigger the sport has become the less coverage it has been given. They used to have wall-to-wall radio coverage on Saturdays plus midweek TV coverage. What is the bloody point of BBC sport. They hardly even cover women's football either and the broadcast rights for that are dirt cheap. They have still got the boat race for all their Oxbridge chums though.
In the good old days when the BBC covered England's home test matches ( cricket ) all 5 days. The old 5 nations. Flood light Rugby league, Pot black in black AND white. Sports night with Coalman. All day F.A cup final build up with its a knockout, hotel and coach interviews. Grandstand with the gee gees in between other sports. F.1> and various other motor sports and now we are left with the bastard boat race and bastard Wimbledon ffs ;-)

The beeb are on it tonight.

Manchester City are playing in only their fourth semi-final in their European history after the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1969-70 and 1970-71, and 2015-16 Champions League – they’ve only gone on to reach the final once, winning their only European trophy to date in the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1970.

Two huge clubs without a Champions League win between then.

Manchester City have underachieved in this competition.

So you generally think they’re doing a good job?

I see your half way through your body search kaz :-)

On the lunch time news Desperate Dan had to slip in that Basher Brian was 'one of the most decorated footballers in the PL.' Something which has no bearing on this case any more than the number of clutches a motor mechanic might have adjusted. Perhaps after the lies surrounding Slabhead, Roan sees himself as a crime journalist?
When you say you are a fan of Annabel Tiffin's work are you referring to the small enhancement job she had a few years ago?

Which demonstrates this exactly. BBC are virtually extinct and an irrelevance now to the majority of people who can get their news and sports coverage elsewhere. Once the last generation of 60 and overs have gone who grew up on all this coverage then this corrupt waste of taxpayers money will get properly regulated and disappear at last .. any organisation that shields J.... Sav..... gets what it deserves

Yeah, closed it when I read that.

It’s pure economics. If you owned a media outlet you’d pander to who would buy your product

the annoying thing is that the hacks won’t even acknowledge or countenance this

Like the MEN bloke the other day ribbing us about agendas. Of course commercial media organisations have an editorial narrative aimed at their customers.

Narrative and agenda are the same thing
