I cant believe anyone would want Liverpool to miss out on the CL.

it would be funny for 5 minutes, then we have the prospect of them having only the PL to focus on next season, especially when they inevitably throw the domestic cups.

City being in four competitions and Liverpool one, in the thick end of the season, is never going to be a good thing, despite our squad depth.

They dont have Anywhere near the same depth so the more games they have the better.

We would have killed to be in that a few years ago.
Very true. We must never forget where we've come from. A week ago, a Blue mate of mine went out for the day instead of watching the Carabao Cup Final.

He said he'd lost interest in it after the chance of the quadruple disappeared after losing the FA Cup Semi to Chelsea. There was a time not too long ago when a Carabao Cup final would have all we'd have been talking about for a month, & we'd have had a parade & Mayoral reception at the Town Hall...

How times have changed hey? It pains me when our fans forget where we've come from, especially loyal lifelong Blues like my mate.

As much as I hate the dipping, candle waving, Heysel deniers, I just can't get behind a rag win.

I think about THAT banner.

I think about growing up in the late 80's/early 90's and the vitriolic comments from grown men towards a kid if I dared to wear my City shirt in public.

I think about getting into my only two physical fights in pubs in Tameside with sky reds playing billy big bollocks and ganging up on small pockets of Blues.

Fuck them. I want these cunts destroyed.

At times like this, I let Conan the Barbarian sum up my thoughts :-)

"What is best in life?"

Conan: "To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women."

I remember in 1995 when the Intertoto was being introduced, thinking typical, just as anyone in the top 10-12 could qualify we were going to miss out.

A whole generation with no European football made it seem very exciting, pity it is tarnished now with too many games and round robin cash cow bore fests.

I want united to win.

That way we get to win the PL ourselves next week (Instead of another team doing it for us) - Imagine that, celebrating our goals against Chelsea whilst we win the PL. It also means lfc are less likely to get into the CL which means they earn less money - which means their owners ditch them - which means they're back to square one.

United to win please 6-5

Beating Chelsea helps Liverpool.

if Liverpool lose they are 7 points of 4th place with 4 games to go .

Any small chance they have currently and it is small will be gone.

A team that throws the FA Cup every year is going to go all guns blazing playing in macedonia on a thursday night?

They wont get out of the group stages.
Don't be daft. They might rotate a bit, but they would not purposely lose EL matches. They've won the league now, so circumstances have changed a bit in regards to other competitions and how much of a distraction they are seen to be.
