Exactly, at the cost of $3bn, I imagine they'll just get another owner with exactly the same intentions as the Glazers.

In my opinion they'd never get owners like ours because their club/brand has already been built, the new buyer wouldn't be making a name for the club and themselves, they'd just be maintaining what somebody has already previously done.

Plus, I know they always say they'd never want owners like ours but we all know they'd kill for owners like ours.
If their 800m global fans chip in a fiver each the deal could be done in a heartbeat...

Can someone with a bit more knowledge than me on the situation explain how do these united fans get 51% of the club they would have to come up with £2billion surely ? They have a whip round ? Expect it handed over to them for free ? Seen stories about boris etc implementing new rules surely he can’t just take 51% of someone’s business for nothing ? Is it that simple that they need to stump up the cash and have glazers be willing to part way with half or am I missing something ?

Its a simple sell isn't it? Pay £3bn for something that brings in £100m a year of which you can syphon half off - give just over 50% of that asset away to the fans and embark on a series of decisions that reduces the amount of income every year. Show me the person who operates on that business model and I'll be looking at someone who is broke.

Carragher and Neville are a pair of agitators who caused this they should be arrested
One is too stupid to see the wider consequences of what he says, the other is a snake out to 'other' the owners in an attempt deflect blame from the fans & a club culture that has enabled this latest sorry episode.

I have read the Glazers would want £6bn to sell.

Add to that another £0.5 - £1bn to rebuild the squad - never mind who has that sort of money they are deluded enough to think they can raise just over half of that sum by having a whip around so they are 50+1 fan owned

A £6billion pound asset that's riddled with rust and needs a good paint job to brighten up the place, oh and a new lock for that door that got kicked in earlier too..!

Being run into the ground whilst the ink is still wet on the dabber's new £400K a week contact, waiting for him to sign it..

Not to mention the donut thief who is languishing in the stiffs whilst collecting £350K a week for the next 3 years..

Three quarters of a million pounds per week for these 2 jokers and the unwashed hoards are complaining that the Glazers are keeping a tight rein on the purse strings..

Fkin madness..!

Exactly and they're not daft, keeping United semi-competitive solely for financial reasons. Floating in and out of Europes premium competition, being in a 'title race' for a short period, just enough to keep the money coming in.

They'll view 2nd and a Europa League Final as success because it'll keep the money coming in, just enough for them to take a nice £20m-£30m dividend every year.

United would need to lose significantly value for anybody to view them as a viable purchase.
