TV Series

Just finished Invincible, Animated super hero show on Amazon. had its ups and down, a few nice twists and in places if frickin brutal!. well deserved 18 rating.

Id say 7 / 10 for the most part, a few 9/10 eps.

Anyone watching ‘Mare of Easttown’? It’s excellent and Kate Winslet is very good. Would really recommend it.
Does it get going? Watched episode 1 and found Kate's accent iffy at best and the plot slow and the whole thing very uninspiring. Kate is a great actress but there are plenty of good actresses and if you're going to have a Brit play an American, requirement 1 for me is a decent American accent.

Haven't watched it and not keen to do so as I dislike her American accent in other stuff she's done.
Let us know if it turns out to be any good and I may give it a whirl.
Rewatching the Line of Duties. Presently on season 2 - the Lindsay Denton one - excellent, and much better than the latest one that's just finished, imho.

I think it’s good. I did wonder why it was an English actor but they do seem to pop up a lot on American productions. To be honest, I’d sort of forgotten it was her.

Just finished series 1 of IL Cacciatore (the hunter) on Walter Presents. Pretty good. Based on the true story of a Palermo prosecutor.

Just started Shadow and Bone in Netflix....
I love Walter presents. I haven't been on netflix since I discovered it. Il Cacciatore is next on my list, have worked my way through my of the Scandinavian series, quite a few of the Italian and some of the French.

Anyone watching Son of Sam doc on Netflix?
Well made (then again anything shot in a gritty New York is going to be interesting) 4 episode series.
I’m just one in but this takes on the view he didn’t act alone (which in turn may be an exercise in obsession & rabbit holes....ring any bells with the qanon stuff?)

for@ilovehappyenings -I enjoy watching the detective / thrillers series. I am told I am never happier than watching crimes being committed in a different language. In truth I like the landscape and cultural attitudes. Just finished 'Floodlands' a Dutch and Belgium series with a lead female detective quite different to what you generally have. Very much enjoyed 'Stockholm Requiem' which is obviously Swedish. If you like a French approach there is a set of 3 series 'Vanished by the lake' 'Fear by the lake' and 'killer by the lake'. Also enjoyed 'Nordic Murders' which is actually German but set around the whole Baltic area. There is actually a lot of series on there. I think I have a similar taste in drama to Walter! If you are stuck have a browse.
