He has been a quality signing but a top club would have said thank you and goodbye.

Not offer another big deal for a player who will decline and spend a lot of time on the bench or playing meaningless European games on a Thursday night.
And let’s not forget, he was a free agent, when the rags snapped him up.

That says all you need to know.

They need to tell the GPC to sling his hook if they have any aspirations of improving. He's stunk the place out since he retired casting a shadow over all the managers. It was obvious that Peg and van gaal didn't want him there and the chosen one and the paperboy were his puppets. Football moves on but not in their case.

The only people who could buy that club with the money involved would be the Saudis, but why would they? Surely a club like Newcastle makes more sense or even the likes of your Forests/ Sheff Weds? To be able to build a club back up would be more appetizing to this lot I'd imagine with a lot less cost/ baggage. United are still top'ish, ie not much glory to be made.
The thing with united fans they honestly think they've hit rock bottom. Fuckin 2nd in the league with a European final and they're whinging. The irony also is that the very thing they brag about(their worth)is what's stopping potential buyers. I hope they fuckin rot.

The problem the Glazers have is that United is integrated into the wider crumbling empire... some of their US shopping mall outlets have borrowed money against Man United - so that makes selling the club complicated because its not just the money that United owe that would need to be repaid but their are wider sums that would need to be repaid if the underlying asset was sold. There is also the United entity in the Cayman Islands - (@Prestwich_Blue may know more) which is kept very hush hush but almost certainly has some remnants of the PIK notes that so conveniently disappeared a few years back - its been speculated that the Glazers paid the PIK notes up - but given their previous - I wouldn't be sure its the case and their debts could be quite a few bob higher than reported.

We don't know for sure if their United shares have been used as collateral against their business loans but I'd hazard a decent guess that hidden in their Cayman Islands company is a shed-load of debt, and that could well be supported by them.

Favourite bit last night.

Fernandes, the "Yelper".
Hope it sticks.
I even noticed the ref was having none of his screams last night either. Hopefully it is a trend that continues. It's embarrassing that a professional footballer has to scream his way round the pitch like that.

Oh for the Glazers to have to sell then the auditors and due diligence checks could reveal a whole bag of worms, be a pisser if HMRC issued them with winding up orders. Be a good ballot to speculate the next variant of their name, having missed out on FC United of Manchester, and Salford City when they get liquidated and we then get years of Sky and BBC bangin on about Pheonixs and Flames

I broadly agree with you. But what I suspect is that things have now reached a tipping point with the Glazers that makes it increasingly difficult for them to meet their debt payments.
They have just won the Super Bowl with Tampa Bay but, like all NFL clubs, they are taking a huge hit from Covid.
They are sitting on a large number of virtually worthless retail sites which they bought with borrowing and the debt at United is at least £700m, excluding long-term payments on transfers and any infrastructure spend.
I also heard from someone well placed to know that the Glazers were touting United around for investors before last Christmas and there are still persistent rumours about Saudi or Chinese investors. Now they have lost the chance of a bale-out from the Super League. They have got nowhere to go.

Haha I love your insight.
I think we’re cut from the same cloth and bet we’d get in like a house on fire if ever we met in a boozer.

They'll be deemed as 'too big to fail' and end up with a Government bail out which will technically mean that they are 'State owned'; partially at least.

Won't that be embarrassing for them...

SCUM!!!

Just listening to that thick Goldbridge kunt (for amusement purposes only, of course!), talking about last night's match and Roy Keane's views. He doesn't agree with Roy, but doesn't want to fall out with him because everyone's views are infallible!!

It wouldn't be funny, but he's such a pompous little prick!

Had the game on without crowd noise and the yelping was laughable.
Nobody seems to have bothered mentioning Rashford’s blatant and shameless dive near the end. Tyler could only bring himself to say he “tried to make the most of a coming together” the sycophantic old lizard

The screaming from that rat is embarrassing. I really hope his behaviour has resonated throughout the fan bases across the country and as a result he’ll get abuse in spades next season. Once the rag ref had spoken to him last night he was anonymous thereafter. I don’t think he’s got the temperament to handle having a crowd on his back.
