Brighton (A) | Post-Match Thread

Can't fault the players there; even Garcia who ended up playing in a position he wasn't comfortable with.

Gundo scored early, and what transpired was one of the most bent displays of officiating I've seen for a long time.

Our game plan went out of the window after 8 minutes when Cancelo was incorrectly sent off. Meanwhile Brighton were fouling with impunity, whist we were conceding fouls for 50-50's?

The players struggled to keep their cool, but it was hardly surprising given what they were up against. EVERYONE in that ground knew what was going on, which gave Brighton the confidence to attack us, safe in the knowledge that the referee had their back.

Can't wait for Pep's interview.

It’s no consolation but Chelsea had a cast iron penalty turned down. I think they are incompetent. As for tonight we were poor after man sent off. It happens. We’ve won the league and the intensity has gone from our lads. As for Brighton they never really figured in my thoughts and probably won’t work in the future. However for their pettiness and snide fouling at the moment I hope we thrash them in a game that matters.

Garcia MUST NOT be on the plane to Porto. The sooner he is out of the UK the better, absolute, total, complete, utter and useless shite. Barcelona welcome to him.
won the league. Won the League Cup. Now let’s win the UCL and fuck the media right off.
Totally agree he’s an absolute liability. No positional sense, no pace, and not big enough.

Does anyone rate Rodri? He's not fit to lace Fernandinho's boots, and the man is 36 years old for fuck's sake.
He's been brilliant all season. We're on the cusp of a treble and he's played more minutes than any other player, one or two bad games doesn't change his importance all year

Cracking game. Obviously the sending off changed everthing, but credit to Brighton, they played well. I don’t think it was a sending off offence, they just got tangled up and fell over. The ref gave us nowt, if we’d won the toss at the start, he would have given it to Brighton.
Great goal from Phil, and I thought Dias played well. It was nice to hear a crowd again, the atmosphere was electric.
I hope Gundog isn’t too seriously injured.

You know even with VAR being created to correct decisions we still get f'd by the officials

Time for Pep to call out these Refs.
This has been going on for to long.
He will get fined so what we got a red and 3 yellows, they got 3 yellows 1 for time wasting. How that is possible god knows.I am starting to think that we should have ex footballers sat in with the Var people.Fair play to Brighton though they play decent stuff struggle to score till we turn up.

As Sheik Mansour is in such a benevolent mood, he needs to slip Pep £50k to pay his fine for calling out that utter disgrace of a ref ..
Nothing will come of it of course but that tonight was blatant cheating without a single fuck given about consequences...
The result isn’t relevant but that performance by the ref is very fuckin relevant...!

Didn't see a second of tonight's game but I must admit to be astonished. On the way home from a mate's had Talksport on with Danny Mills complaining that it's the worst refereeing performance he's ever seen and gave MOTM to Phil.

I though, jeez, must be poor if even Danny Mills thinks the ref was shit!

He said Stuart atwell had been on the pitch prior to KO in a pair of flip flops and said "I knew something was a miss then"
