Ref Watch

If proof were ever needed of corruption, it's this. One of the purposes of VAR is to overturn incorrect refereeing decisions. If the referee or lineman thought Fernandes got a touch on the De Gea pass, VAR's job was to verify the touch. (Quite how they thought Fernandes touched the ball is another matter - they didn't see any deviation in the path of the ball after it went near to him).

So with all the camera angles available, they just need one that shows the touch from Fernandes. Have they found one yet? No. Was there one that the VAR saw that the rest of us didn't see? Probably not, but if there is such a clip showing the touch, let's see it now so we can put the debate to bed.

If they don't produce evidence of the Fernandes touch, then we know the decision was bent. Because without conclusive proof of the touch from Fernandes, the decision has to be offside, and the goal has to be cancelled.
sky highlights on you tube show a clear angle that he doesnt touch it

Was watching the game without volume but am not surprised at that **** Walton’s totally biased interpretation.
He never gives us anything.
A wise decision. In fact listening to the Brighton fans overly giddy reaction to beating a ten man team with frankly bigger fish to fry in the coming days, and then later hearing Chelsea fans do the Madness thing, I'm starting to think football without fans isn't so bad after all.

Brown envelope Walton.... how the hell does he gain employment after he was exposed for being on the take?

I honestly don't think I've ever heard that twat walton ever say the decision should go City's way. He winds me up the ****, would love to meet him one day, preferably down a side street after dark.

look on sky premier highlights on you tube it clearly shows an angle that proves he doesnt touch it
Not seen the replay but was this angle used for var ?
If not this was one of my previous posts regarding TV companies withholding replays for there own gain

Definitely doesn't touch it. Everyone had it down as a De Gea assist until they realised that meant the goal was offside.

Id just like to remind some of you about tonight's embarrassment dressed up as a referee.
Stuart Atwell was fast tracked by Riley and his cohorts as the 'next big thing'. After numerous major blunders and several performances a la this evenings shambles, he was rapidly 'excused' and then demoted at seasons end.
After covering himself in glory in the lower leagues,he was re-promoted, virtually unheard of in refereeing, principally because if the 'next big thing' wasn't good enough, then Riley and Ellery couldn't tell their arse from their elbow.
In short he has a less than glorious past, supported by the 'great and not so good', has underperformed at prem level through two spells but is still PAID to submit a performance like tonight. I am absolutely embarrassed to have been a referee when that means I am guilty of association with people who can create a situation like this in one of the foremost leagues in the world.
Thank goodness it wasn't an important result.

Just watched a rerun and the ineptness of the commentary sums up what were up against. Straight away it’s ‘plucky’ Brighton playing the right way. Then the sending off Cancelo got it all wrong and deservedly sent off with a little ‘Welbeck hooked his arm over Cancelo’ comment which was then ignored and the segment finished with Townsend ignoring what he’s actually seeing clear as day and saying “I think that’s the right decision”.
I got as far as the Gundoghan assault and straight away Darke muses “Gundoghan goes down theatrically” then silence while the replay is shown then Townsend chips in “oh that’s above the knee studs showing, VAR will be taking a look “ followed by darke “mmmmm” then Townsend finishes that segment with” Yeah I don’t think it’ll change , right decision “.
One ex player and one very experienced commentator totally ignoring such farcical refereeing decisions and actually agreeing with them even with full on replays. And they say there’s no agenda?
