Not just a Pen, it's serious foul play. Nivea was over the top of the ball, studs up and connected with Gabby first. He only touched the ball with his trailing leg on the follow through. Looked a foul in real time, and it was confirmed with slow motion footage. How anyone can argue that the other way is beyond my comprehension.
 
It wasn't our turn to win the league this year, the refs and var officials have well and truly fucked up. Attwell,s performance is probably what we can expect to see next season. He will probably walk into there briefing room this morning, to a round of applause.
 
If we had kicked fuck out Brighton like they did with us we would have had three sent off at least in which case the game may even have been abandoned. Niveacowardcunt hacked down Gundogan and that was the straw that led to him coming off, that over the ball out of control assault on Jesus was straight red card material, the **** who did Gundogan first half another red card, as was that twat who straight harmed Foden in the throat. The corruption last night was at a level I thought even City had moved away from but it’s obvious the word has gone out to double down. When you look at the penalties against Ake and Walker last Friday, the red card for Stones at Villa, then look what them cunts got away with last night it stinks. The club must take action, what we have seen is on field assaults, this transcends football and is in the realms of criminal activity, the shithouse Twatwell should be implicated.

ok I’m going to float this, the club have their hands tied, the more they complain the harder the cartel sock puppets come down on them, so how about a supporters club or individual reports the assaults on our players to the police? What have we got to lose, plus with all this fan power bollocks doing the rounds it may get some traction.

the referee would of told the man in the box that the Brighton play got a touch and just check that! Even though the rule is even if you get the ball and then follow thought to take out a player it’s a foul

I don't understand why not either. VAR did review it and it was shown live on BT. But the VAR (John Moss?) said it was OK and check complete according to commentary. Presumably if the VAR thought otherwise it would have told ref to look at monitor.

It seems to me that the whole process is deliberate obfuscation to enable match fixing. When can VAR over rule? Before or after a penalty decision? When does ref look at monitor. When not? Why not? What is clear and Obvious.? What is not? It's infuriating and deliberately complicated.

Exactly. Changes from one game (team) to the next.

It's so open to corruption that it's almost as if it had been brought in simply to back up already incompetent/corrupt refereeing whilst giving the appearance of being fair and objective.

VAR makes it more corrupted not less. Its only useful for offside and that rule needs changing too so it's down to the position of the feet. Last night reminded my of Oliver's disgraceful performances at Anfield twice.
