He is overrated by many on here I would say. Someone commented recently how players in his role can look like they’ve had bad games against the better teams because they’re bound to get caught in possession more, but they can also look better against the poorer teams which has led to people thinking he’s better than he is. It’s probably dawned on him that the reason he’s played most games isn’t because he’s better than Fernandinho. Certainly looks short of confidence atm and can’t see him in the starting lineup for the final. Decent, but not the kind of player you need to spend £60m on.

It was an unfortunate pass to Trossard but what frustrated me most was he just stood still watching afterwards. He could have tried to get back and make amends. Trossard took so long to shoot it could have made a difference? Bad day at the office.
Unfortunate? It was a blind backpass, that's just incompetence but you're right about him standing there and doing nowt after the event. He concedes possession too often for a player whose primary job is to protect the back line - Fernandinho should be starting in the Final, at the very least alongside Rodri but preferably instead of him.

There have been many games earlier this year when he has helped us win - during the run that effectively won us the league he was outstanding. I guess after playing so much for the last year it may have caught up to him a bit. He is probably a little fatigued more mentally than anything. He has played more games than most. I'm sure that he will play, as others will, at a different level in Porto. He has been poor for a couple of games but don't forget those contributions from when we were 8 points behind to being way ahead.

Pep will use him and Ferna in the best way to help win the match and I will be right behind either or both when we beat the Chavs.

I think it’s an area that needs to be looked at. Fernandinho sadly is coming to the end of his time here I saw for the first time last night how heavy legged he was. Rodri needs competition last nights performance highlighted his lack of pace and inability to recover this has happened a few times and more so recently.

Ridiculous. What fan calls one of our own a shitebag, let alone a player who has delivered so much, this year?
Amazing how people slag of a players performance without even considering the effect of the shite/corrupt refereeing performance on the mindset of the players. It's not just the individual incidents that effect the outcome of the game. Every single one of our players on the pitch last night knew how one sided Atwell/VAR were last night and it 100% effected their game. Pep knows he's powerless to do anything from the touchline, and the players have to be firing on all cylinders in order to overcome the cheating. Very difficult when they stick a reducer in after 8 minutes.

The match day thread was an utter shambles with no allowance, whatsoever, given to the red card, knee high challenge, the un-given pen or the foul on Bernardo not given. The players are human, they make mistakes and don't get a second chance. The referee does and has backup to help him.

Feel sorry for him to be honest, had a great season but his form has tailed off at the worst time possible. Plus Fernandinho has done the exact opposite and just come into form, as it stands there can only be one choice for the final.

Some ridiculous stuff posted on here the last 18 hours but I do have to admit that I don't trust him to stay fully concentrated for 90 minutes, even when he's playing well. He gives away possession in dangerous positions seemingly at least once a game. I know there's less margin for error than those who play ahead of him but I hope it's something he continues to improve on next season.

I would not mind either in the final - they're both great players. Zin, Dias, Stones, Walker, Rodri/Fern, Phil, Gundo, KDB, Mahrez and Bernardo, for me.

He’s had a good season. We shouldn’t forget that.

However, I can’t say I’ll be confident with whomever plays in the CL final because Chelsea’s defence is solid, they have an abundance of talent in attack and Kante is a freak. It will be an extremely tough match. Hopefully De Bruyne, Foden and Bernardo will make a big difference.
