Saw the rumour that the Catalan press have invented of the Griezman and Felix swap - Atletico would have to take leave of their senses to give that any consideration. A complete none starter I’d think - Barca will struggle to shift Griezman and they will have to subsidise his departure - they are not getting a £100m player in return. Elements of the Spanish press seem to be prepared to print any amount of drivel that Barca or Real feed them.

Messi falls into the same boat of wanting to win things. He won’t do that at Barca if he stays there - they need time for a massive rebuild and that’s time he doesn’t really have on his side.

While they’re paying his wages too, they can’t afford to rebuild without ESL money either. It’s perfect for him to say it’s time to move while potentially being the ‘hero’ too of moving his finances/wages away from the club.

Or maybe I’m romanticising the fact he wants out of a club in the absolute shit financially...
