If you go off the government advice then i think so, not sure where City are getting the 1pm from unless it's a typo and should be 1am. 72hrs or 3 days from 1pm on Thursday would be that time on Sunday and all those on the day trips will be back by then

I thought this, especially when blindspot, who they have linked up with, are advising drop the tests off between 6am-10am on Thursday.

I was going to drop off Friday but have the issue of getting them printed!
 
I might be being a bit thick. In fact I probably am as I went to the pub last night, but what is the score with the day 2 tests? I know they have to be booked in advance but do they have to be taken on the Monday (the second day back in the UK) or the Tuesday (2 full days after returning).

It will be Tuesday. Day 0 is classed as the day you arrive back in UK, so Sunday.
 
Has anyone on here been able to get hold of Dam Health? I’ve phoned 4 times to try and rearrange my test and had no answer !

On or before day 2 the day you land being day zero
 
If your travelling independently and are arriving in Portugal a few days before the Saturday whats your understanding on the required tests in order to get into the stadium?

I'm wondering now whether we're going to need another PCR test whilst in Lisbon on the Thursday. My initial thoughts were we'd get the antigen test done day of the game which would cover us for entry to the stadium and out flight home on the Monday morning.

Booking another PCR test whilst in Portugal however is proving problematic.

Chelsea website says antigen test 48 hours before entering the stadium is fine but ours and the gov website says PCR. So 2 of the 3 sources say PCR needed but like I say, it's proving problematic.

It’s a fucking joke mate. I’ve brought forward my PCR test to Wednesday from Thursday as I was worried about not getting the results back in time for my Friday morning flight even though I’ve paid a premium for a 3 hour turnaround. I can’t change it back now as no Thursday slots left.
If LFT won’t do for stadium entry, at this rate I’ll be looking to get another fucking PCR done on Thursday for stadium entry. Won’t have to be same day results. Next day will do. If I can find any slots that is!

Same here mate, however getting a PCR Test booked in Portugal looks a pain in the arse. Realistically we'd be looking at getting one done on the Thursday but that'll be cutting it fine getting the results back in time so that we can get in the ground.

I've emailed City but I'm not holding my breath on getting a reply that's of any use.

I feel that I'm basically in a situation where getting the lateral flow or antigen test is going to be a gamble. I don't want to be gambling on whether I'm getting in the ground or not but I also don't want the hassle of getting yet another PCR test in a foreign country and waiting for the results.
 
I think this unnecessarily muddies the waters (waters which are already very muddy).

That link is advice issued by the Embassy and Consulate in Portugal. I think they produce something like this every time an English club makes a European final?

The final itself is a red herring.

It's the specific entry to the stadium requirements that have really muddied the water as far as my own trip is concerned.

Everything else I believe I've covered. We fly Wednesday so our PCR test is booked for tomorrow evening to cover getting into Portugal. Get a day 2 test booked for our return to England, no problem.

It's the entry to the stadium though. I was sure I read that the lateral flow or antigen test within 48 hours would be fine, spikes trip info and Chelsea website says that but our website and the gov travel advice posted say PCR test needed.

  • if you are returning to the UK within 72 hours, you can use the result of the COVID-19 test that you take in the UK before you travel. You must depart for the UK within 72 hours of when you took the test


is that if i have a test booked at 11:50am on Thursday, that test will cover me for the return flight on Sunday at 09:45 to arrive back in Manchester at 12:20 as the departure time is within the 72 hour period. City's website have said it has to be on arrival back into the uk which would mean i would miss out by half an hour on the 72 hour period.

i am presuming the .gov website is the one to go off?? absolute joke the lack of clarity on this

The club said the PCR had to be done from 1pm of Thurs, which seems early with pales coming back early hours Sun but I went with thst just in case.

Same cert will be used for going out, stadium and return.

i will fill out the Portugal and UK locator forms on Friday while still here, the UK one has to be done within 48 of coming back, I am assuming proof of 2 day test booking needed for latter. The plan is to print hard copies of everything (2 in fact) so if one of us loses them the other has them.

Yeah I'd say that the test you have in the UK will cover you for your return home and getting into the ground mate.

What time is your flight out though? Will you get the PCR test result back in time?
