We've had Walker, Ireland, Johnson, Tevez, Nasri, Robinho et al. at the club and we did just fine. We don't have saints in our squad.

Sterling's numbers are a joke given the chances and opportunities he's given.

You've just been shown a stat that compares his figures direct to City's best players, and then you need to multiply those stats by 83/55 (the ratio of City/Villa goals).

How about Walker and Foden's COVID antics? There will always be 'incidents'. I'm sure, if Ric is right about this, that Pep would have spoken to Grealish to discern what kind of man he is.

It's not a forgone conclusion by any stretch as every single transfer has many moving parts they can change in an instant. That said, I've no reason to believe this one isn't being worked on as a priority given everything I've seen and heard recently.

That, I wasn’t aware of. Appreciate the clarity on that front as I’d def trust ric. I’d still lean towards Occam’s Razor here though and we’ll see. Legitimately don’t care either way, not trying to antagonize, just my two cents. Tend to agree with ahsan’s angle though.

I am curious about the fee if it come off though.

I disagree, and I suppose time will tell next season if we do get him in. I’m expecting you to be proven wrong.

Few midfielders pump out KDB-level assists so you are daft to suggest that is the criteria for signing someone. He set the Bundesliga assist record that season.

Go and look at the “numbers” for David Silva at Valencia, Bernardo at Monaco. Luckily your numbers criteria wasn’t being used when we signed both of them.

The club wouldn't push these players out. Certainly not to then spend 75m on Jack Graelish. IF and big if, they wanted to leave and an offer was acceptable, maybe Graelish would be a suitable squad replacement, if a price.could be agreed. But don't see it happening the other way round, club signing graelish then looking to maje room for him, not with the players we have and have worked hard to have.


The swap deals, Jesus to spurs, really, because a few don't rate him? Sterling plus hefty cash for Kane? Sterling, who in the last 3 seasons has outscored Kane on every level in 2 of those. The only one he hasnt is this season which has been a poor one, without a striker to play off. Also younger than Kane, an english international, mulriple medal winner, in CL and at a top club etc. Their value isnat the very least comparable, to suggest he goes to spurs plus a lot of cash blows my mind.

agree but what if the club know that one of Jesus Sterling or Silva want out? Maybe This is why Ric says we still after him?

Foden and De Bruyne is definitely better, but that doesn`t make Grealish a bad player. You can never have too many good players. I guess we`ll just agree to disagree about the stats. 18 G&A in a quite poor side after missing a third of the season sound pretty good to me. If he was a regular starter at City I believe he could do even better (in terms of G&A). Playing with the likes of Foden, De Bruyne, Mahrez and potentially Kane is an incredible upgrade from Bertrand Traore, Barkley, El Ghazi and Watkins. He`s quite clearly way too good for Villa. He would walk into every other team in England (except ours maybe)

Personally, I`m on the fence about this transfer. I think he`s a very good player that would challenge for a starting spot in our best 11, but I certainly wouldn`t lose any sleep if we don`t get him. Right now I don`t see the need for another attacking midfielder/winger (unless someone unexpected wants to leave), especially with all the emerging talents from the academy. I also expect Torres to take big steps next season, and Sterling to regain his old form. Unless any unexpected wants to leave, I think the only position we 100% have to strengthen is the striker position. A LB (like Wijndal) to challenge Zincehnko would also be great but not a necessity with Ake and Cancelo being able to cover

yeah, we have arses at the club now, so deal with it. I'd rather have people who deliver on the pitch and a bit difficult off it than those who get 3 one-on-ones but can't use their left side as a professional footballer to dink it over the keeper for a simple hat-trick but are nice guys off the pitch.

Sterling got 7 goals and 8 assists in the front 3 from 35 appearances playing for the mighty Liverpool in 14/15 the season before joining us. So he must be shit too then...

Grealish wouldn't have got those chances in the first place because he hasn't got the pace or the movement of Sterling.
 
Tbh, away from the discourse about his character (which I agree is questionable btw - heard there are other demons in his closet that haven't yet come out too heh) the main issue for me is where does he play tbh. I just can't see any space in the squad at all for Grealish unless someone leaves. Genuinely. Who will? It would have to be a Sterling or a Mahrez type. A big player basically.
 
Grealish is robust, strong and very good in tight spaces. If he signs, I think he's more likely to play further back than further forward.
