I'm really glad he can no longer be called fatty in the Beano. If you wasn't already aware he's called Frederick Brown or Freddy to his chums, so a modicum of respect wouldn't go amiss.

Oh how the handsome kids chuckled (Plug Excluded) as they called out his name with glee. This has been going on since 1938 and high time it stopped.

The Beano when questioned said "Kids come in all shapes and sizes, and we absolutely celebrate that. We don't want to risk someone using it in a mean way. The time is right to revert back to Freddy. Although it's always been used affectionately, and never pejoratively, we agreed it's time it changed"

Did any one bother asking Freddy as he sobbed nightly into his comfort pillow if his counterparts were being affectionate, did they fook as like! The pain that lad has had to endure for over 80 years doesn't bear imagining.

Yes he likes cakes but that is because he's ridiculously addicted, so instead of fat-ism should they not be offering a support network rather than daily chastisement! Who's next ffs .. Billy Wizz!

I'm not sure the "children come in all sizes" is the best approach. Fat children growing up to be fat adults with related health complications isn't good for anyone.

Obviously shaming and bullying is nasty and counterproductive but "fat tolerance" can go too far towards enabling people to hurt themselves with eating disorders without compassionate hard truths from their family and friends.
 
I am a compassionate English speaker - it seems that triggers "free speech" advocates who then accuse me of being "woke" which they think is insulting to me but accurately describes their own state of consciousness oddly enough.
 
I always find it amusing when people get offended and angry, about people who get offended and angry. It's like a perfect circle of people who just like to moan and fail to see that they are basically suffering from.the same thing and all that's different, is it's the same bollocks coming from an opposite direction. They each think it's ok for them to moan and be offended about other people cut from what is basically the same boring cloth.

We should emphatically not celebrate that kids can be fat. Poor diet and lack of exercise are the two major factors why physical and mental illnesses, and physical conditions, are so rife and why the NHS is under so much pressure.

Fair enough, don’t taunt them for it; but it should never be accepted, never mind celebrated, and should always be actioned and reversed.

Physical sugar addiction and mental addiction to food in children needs to be eradicated. Education should be given to parents on how to cook sensibly, both with cost and with health (healthy food cooked from scratch is cheaper than unhealthy food), if they refuse that education and ignore the advice they should be punished for not raising their children properly and safely.

Addictions a terrible thing and Poor Frederick may have been suffering from Prader Willy. I'm really glad the Beano editer has taken this approach as Fatty's not his name. .

By affording him a chance to feel human again he may be able to lose that monkey on his back and drop his weight naturally...although it's going to be an uphill struggle as cakes are very nice.

A lot of languages in the world have nouns which are either feminine or masculine. In Spanish, for example, if you’re adding an adjective to describe a noun that too has to match the gender of the noun it’s describing. These bonkers knobheads who decide these new rules should apply to language will render the entire language structure of Spanish and many other languages as unfit for use!

Female to male will have their uterus removed so wont menstrate , for those pre- op there is hormone blocks to stop periods

You have just confirmed what I already said, Kaz.

They don't need to take blockers because stopping menses can be achieved by testosterone alone.

The bolded bit is generalisation and isn’t actually the norm. Most FTMs will not not had a hysterectomy. Some stats I found put it at 21% but it's not something where much data is collected.

Girls of ten ish , when they start having periods are given blockers if medically advised , they are reversable but i am not sure testosterone is ?

Are you talking about girls (blocking female sex hormones for other medical reasons) or girls identifying as trans? The physical effects of testosterone, including a deeper voice would not usually be reversible. If they developed an Adam's apple only solution would be surgical procedure that is performed on some MTFs.

Are we now having a discussion about the merits of places like the Tavistock centre? Because that's not what my original post was about, and the topic that prompted it was an issue involving adult healthcare not transgender identifying adolescents.
