The bench was not as good, and ,I guess if you are being harsh, Barry, Lescott and de Jong wouldn't start in this team.

It is absolutely his usual role in the current squad. It wasn't his role in previous squads that contained David Silva and didn't contain Rodri, but we're comparing the 20/21 squad to the 11/12 squad, right?

Aguero Tevez Dzeko Balotelli incredible front four. Jesus and Sterling wouldn’t get near that. Peak Silva and peak Yaya. De Jong Barry. Peak Kompany, Zabba and Micah. Milner, Nasri, Lescott, kolarov all great options. For me only Dias, Dinho and KDB get into that squad without question. The likes of Mendy, Cancelo, Mahrez, Gundo, even Walker wouldn’t be better options than what we had in that squad. Foden as good as he is still isn’t Silva. No one starts before Yaya imho. Hart VS Ederson is close different styles of approach require different keepers but 2012 Hart the better keeper for me. Ederson the better footballer. All opinions obvs. I think 2012 team at their best beats this team.

Yaya, perversely, would be a weak link that Guardiola would try to expose. His press was poor.

Mahrez vs Kolarov would be a fun watch.
