The much repeated mantra that Pep is a chequebook manager and couldn't do it with stoke. We're all familiar with this lazy narrative.

Ditto Foden should have gone out on loan for 'experience.' Presumably being hacked by the Championship's finest would have developed him more than say working with Pep on the training pitch or learning off David, Sergio, Raz Kevin or Dinho?

Rattus nevillus wonder why he didn't go to another club to prove himself? Maybe without the players and infrastructure that 'nited had (then!) gaz might just have proven to be a technically limited snide little man?

Still at least he speaks with authority as a failed manager.

Neville doesn't call it like it is; he's deceitful and duplicitous. Hence he starts the narrative with Dinho's tactical fouls that have been present throughout football history. His forked tongue doesn't drip honey and there's always a barb. England's best defender Slabhead? Fking idiot.

Spot on did it with Fernandinho and the “ tactical foul” now every commentator and pundit mention whenever he plays
 
Of all the countries in the last 16 there is probably only one that has a media that operates against certain players in their team and that is the English media. Even teams that are going home well beaten will be welcomed as a group. Eg Scotland.
I know the Spanish and ltalian media come out with some very excitable stuff but there is not the same insidious sly stuff we get.
As a complete contrast l will remind people that 'Senior Centre Back' MaGuire remains a convicted criminal despite the falsehoods passed from the United Press Office to a media only too willing to believe them. He is a convicted man until if and when a Greek court with Greek lawyers overturns his conviction.
Unfortunately l have a feeling that it will go under the carpet after the passage of time..l certainly do not see Magliar pushing to clear his name in court nor the Gusrdian or BBC repeating their true story that he is still a guilty man.
Ps.l forgot. How many other countries have a media that maintains a running war against its reigning champions? Just the one that used to have a reputation for complete sporting fairness.

That's Rooney and Neville now who have already stuck the boot in on Phil. They know what they are doing.
 
It’s actually quite sinister what’s happening here. It’s like it’s been decided between a lot of the pundits and journalists to dig out anything and everything City player related.
Our players are judged way harsher than each and every other player in that squad and that’s not a coincidence.
I’d like to see a few positive reports to even the score but they seem in short supply atm.

He dyed his hair that's all. That is not something that should be used to destroy a footballer. He wasn't even born when gazzer did it AND if the media had not bigged gazzer up simply to shoot him down in flames it might have been a different story for him.
Why the sad sack of shits in the media feel the need to treat him as they do is a very sad reflection on our society

Also, last night, Neville said that Sones needs Mcquire beside him. Can't remember the exact words but he implied that he makes Stones a better player. Hogwash.

Agree. Bollocks. Seemed to to ok with Mings beside him too (or Dias, Laporte). Need to take their red-tinted spex off and Southgate should too. If I was Stones I'd be feeling a bit peeved that the talking waistcoat seems to rate the Greek Island thug over him.

No he doesn't have to do it, but at the same time why shouldn't he do what he wants with his hairstyle and anything else for that matter. (within reason obviously)
He shouldn't have to kow tow to the media and should be allowed to just get on and do his job. Which he is doing and doing well. He wasn't dropped as such for the match he was on a yellow card and Southgate, in his wisdom (if that isn't an oxymoron) left him out so the lad would still be available for the next match.

Not sure with rooney he was basically saying that phil is to good for England !
And that phil needed to lower his standards like Blackburn to become an England player. ,) sarcasm !

Phil is a City player and plays to a higher level than most of his England teammates. His footballing brain works so quick that by the time phil has decided what he is going to do, his England teams are still thinking how to trap the ball ! So Phil's movement is wasted.
Walker yesterday charged down the line a few times but had to pass back as nothing was on. The same with Stones. Same when Sterling makes his runs.
The City lads seem to be that much quicker in thought.
