Harry Kane

I think it means we’d be prepared to walk away from Kane and wait a year to get Haaland at the release fee

Problen with that is we’d be competing with half a dozen other clubs
We’d also get rid of the resident wum, so every cloud : )

If we go for Kane I think its a very poor statement of our ambitions for next Season.
Only KDB, Foden and Diaz are untouchable imo. Brutal I know but all the rest of the squad are replaceable /negotiable to get the very best. Harsh I know but having lost Merin,Kun & Sane in recent years I'm not convinced we've brought in the same level of player .

Ederson too

I'd be tempted to put in an £80m bid and just see if there is anyone else who fancies shelling out that kind of money in the current market. I don't see any foreign clubs being able to come anywhere close to that. I don't see United paying that as they have other positions that need strengthening. Liverpool won't pay it either. I just don't see a big market out there for him, for what Spurs want.

Chelsea might be able to do it, but I suspect they might want to give Tuchel some money to bring in "his" players first.

Spurs won't be able to turn it down without risking having an unhappy player who could just leave for free at the end of his contract.

They’ve apparently already turned down a £100m bid but you think they’ll accept £80m?

True - that's if we've actually done it.

I wouldn't pay £100m for him, I think he is worth it but I don't think there's anyone else who will want to pay it :) A player is only worth what other clubs can pay!

There’s still a figure that Levy will want to allow him to leave.
Regardless of what any club wants to pay.

Therein lies the problem. He’s got a lot left on that contract so they can play hard ball with Kane if necessary.

Spurs hold the cards (sort of). They don’t want a disgruntled player and they need the money but they won’t let him go on the cheap. It’s just a case of whether they are willing to lower that valuation to a figure that works for us. I’d be shocked if it was 8 figures.

If he had a year left then the strategy you suggest would work. It’s difficult when he has 2 or 3 years left still

We desperately need a striker. Levy knows this so he has the bargaining power. He'd be happy to keep Kane for his new in coming manager. Can see this being a 120 mill or 100 mill plus player, take it or leave it kind've situation. Personally I'd like us to look elsewhere, I have a bad feeling we've seen the best of Kane.

I wonder how disgruntled Kane would be? He doesn't strike me like he is the person that would kick in Lev's door, if he doesn't get his move, or cause a fuss similar to Mahrez when he could't get his transfer.

All those arguments are null and void if Spurs need cash quickly.

Kane wants out, and it looks like he only wants to sign for us.

So as said if Spurs do need to sell, they don't have much leverage.
