Harry Kane

Agreed. If he's such a great negotiator and businessman, how come Spurs are so fucked financially - reportedly.

Well if he's such a great negotiator, how come he has no hair!

That is just as valid an argument!

100m for Jack Brumlish, who we don't need, with two good seasons playing for a shit team: 'get in there, great talent, if you don't want him then I'm embarassed for you'

100m for Kane, proven world class striker, guaranteed a bag full each season, skint in the position: 'lol fuck off m8, overrated, do not want him'

Makes sense.

So it's going round Kanes a done deal, been working all morning so not read back, is this confirmed as a reality?

Also the 100M bid to Grealish?

World class? Very good PL striker, not so sure about world class.

Spurs need £95m to pay off a debt (read on here)
Then they will also need a striker, minimum.
Hence why Levy wants £150m

Not sure that’s quite how it works… I might want a holiday and a new kitchen and decide to sell my car to fund it…. The cost of the holiday and the kitchen do not determine the value of the car… the car is worth what the car is worth.

Say it enough, it'll stick ;)

in what world is kane not world class. best striker in the best league in the world, top goalscorer last WC.. people have lost their minds

Not debating his quality, but not sure two goals against Tunisia, a hat-trick against Panama and a penalty against Colombia is worth writing home about

Easily world class. A guy scoring bags full each season in this league can only be considered as such.
I dont see RM and Barca or Bayern or any of those "big" clubs going for him, unless I missed something? They want Haaland and Mbappe, they cant afford it but they made it clear who they want, it isnt Harry though. Is it?

Anyway, I am looking forward to how Kane handles this lack of form and pressure on him to score. I saw Shearer go through the same thing for a while and it didnt really phase him, I am hoping Harry is the same.

Therein lies the problem. He’s got a lot left on that contract so they can play hard ball with Kane if necessary.

Spurs hold the cards (sort of). They don’t want a disgruntled player and they need the money but they won’t let him go on the cheap. It’s just a case of whether they are willing to lower that valuation to a figure that works for us. I’d be shocked if it was 8 figures.

If he had a year left then the strategy you suggest would work. It’s difficult when he has 2 or 3 years left still
I think that’s a realistic assessment and there’s a deal to be done around £100m.

My guess is one side or other would pull out and move on at +/- 10%.

Not defending Levy but his strategy was to build a large and state-of-the-art stadium to grow club revenues and instead we got an unforeseeable pandemic, completely reversing the situation. He has now growing expenses with such a stadium and lower income.

True...but the situation is dog eat dog.

Besides, Levy has made other shit decisions with a big impact on finances and reputation, not least the appointment of Mourinho.
