Not sure if that would work practically in a workplace at the risk of certain colleagues then being branded as lepers & a two tier environment being created which isn't the best way for businesses to operate.

My workplace has now 'encouraged' policy for all colleagues to wear masks when in a common area such as kitchens, reception, toilets & basically everywhere apart from when you're sitting at your desk.

People who have a cold really shouldn't be in the workplace in the first place & should be encouraged to work from home if possible rather than risk spreading it in the office. This was an 'unwritten' policy pre-COVID times so as to not potentially reduce the workforce even further & really should be more of a stringent rule during a pandemic, since I think we're all now educated how transmissible respiratory diseases can be.
If you work in retail it has been a requirement to wear a mask or be shut down.

Must admit was nice to do about a 10k walk along the coast yesterday without having to wear one.
Was kept handy for all my, err, water stops but to walk in the open air in 30 degree heat with a full face on show felt good.
I never wear mine when out in the fresh air walking the mutt or just mooching. Always got one on my arm incase i come across an interesting looking boozer.

I don’t wear mine out walking the dog either, but bring one with me for when I pop in for a coffee.
I take it off again out in the open.

Same here, they took off the obligation to wear one outside at the weekend. You still have to wear one inside or on the bus or tram (I do so, I've got better uses for CHF200)

I'm going to miss them a bit, you could get away with mouthing "go fcuk yourself" at obnoxoius bastards and nobody would notice.

somebody on the bus the other day shouted (somebody give me a hell yeah) everybody was masked up

It’s interesting that mask wearing is such a big deal to some and almost irrelevant to others. Maybe it’s a psychological thing about being told to wear one.

Sure they make breathing a bit less comfortable, but the amount of time we have to wear one is limited in the U.K.

Hopefully when all this is finished and we have a resemblance of normality, I hope people will still wear them when they have a cold. They could even put Vicks on the inside to help them breathe!
