no mention of the oil tanker speed of defending by maguire.

and no mention of the gazelle speed defending of Walker who came from miles away and got closer to Werner than maguire

as mentioned elsewhere Stones and Walker were far better than maguire throughout the match - blocks, awareness, speed etc… but maguire gets MotM for …. Err… a single offensive header?
 
This tournament has made me realise it is not so much England I hate but the English press/media.
OK England are run by 80 year old blazers and managed by a caravan site (Neil Innes) but they are nothing like the vipers in the media. This is highlighted by the Sterling coverage, not just the Sun's, all of the two faced whores happy to destroy someone to get a few clicks.

and shouldnt be in the team, says he hates him,

why what has he actually done, has been done for drugs, drink driving atacked someone on a night out,
you know something that could be a reason to hate someone, no answer apart from im just being a dick.

They're ramping it up out of all proportion after Germany game. Will be even worse if we beat Ukraine next. Lose however, and they'll assassinate just as quickly. Verminous bastards will probably set someone up if it goes quiet. Offer Newark a bogus job or set one of the players up with a slapper. The press don't offer anything of use, just leech off all and sundry. I haven't bought a paper in years.

Very true, I can't stand BFS and his brand of football but the way he was set up by the Telegraph was a disgrace. They pushed, badgered and refused to leave him alone until he agreed to a dodgy deal. They are sewer rats.

This applies to most things in the media and not just with football. A lot of people are not informed either through choice or lack of time to look into things, so will parrot whatever is the overall opinion told to them.

This is especially noticeable with football as we all have an interest in the sport, especially when it comes to City, so we instantly can see when information is wrong or biased and how it shapes other fans opinions on subjects they dont actually have knowledge about, they just repeat what they get told, especially when it confirms what they want to believe (city bad).

The interesting thing to think about is how does media shape our own opinion on subjects we arnt as invested into or knowledgeable about like with City. We cant always be fully informed on every subject, but its worth getting our news from multiple sources and trying to form our own thoughts so we dont end up like your wifes mates husband who cant back up his strongly held beliefs against the most basic of scrutiny.
