It's Quiet Thread 15 - Txiki Blinders

Talking to a Chelsea fan down the gym, I kinda realise now why City are not going near Haaland. he follows Chelsea transfer news and apparently Roman will pay whatever for Haaland but Mino is insisting on a 150 million pound release clause in the contract if Haaland would sign for them. Chelsea don’t want a clause but Mino is insisting

Ramos and Varane leaving Real Madrid in the same window. Laporte wanting to start every game. Switch to Spain.

Seems like that's the one that'll happen. If Madrid get £50m for Varane, they can buy Laporte for £10-20m more.

Yes, can see that. Ramos, in particular, will have been on wages far in excess of what Laporte would still be happy with.

I'd take £75m with reluctance, but if we got someone in like Pau Torres for his £50m buyout, then that will be very good business for us?

Makes you wonder why Madrid don't just buy Torres, unless they go for both?

Torres and Laporte have looked a poor combination in the Euros. Even Garcia has looked better than Torres when paired with Laporte.

Something big really has been kicking off these last few days.

Have friends at CFG who state the club has done its business.

That's a very bold statement and one which excites and worries me in equal measure.
So if the timing of this is the important factor.......who has gone out of the Euros in these last few days? ;-)

Torres isn't as good as Laporte, and I think he would need a year to get used to the physicality of the league but he does have one thing Laporte lacks, which is out and out blistering pace.

Which maybe means he could be a useful 3rd choice with a real point of difference that Laporte lacked to get ahead of Dias and Stones - and he might be more prepared to sit back and learn for a while.

He's very good on the ball - he was the one who played the 60 yard crossfield pass for Torres' goal in the last 16 game.

All the reports on Madrid's end say they want Koundé soon as Varane is sold.

Re the speculation about Ramos.
I cannot, in a million years see Pep entertaining a player like him who holds the world record for Red Cards. 37 and counting...........

If they can pay that for him why the fuck won’t we? He’d transform us and we’d be sorted for years without needing to sign another striker.

About time we showed we have bigger bollocks than fucking Chelsea. We need Haaland. If he goes there we can say goodbye to the title next season.

Did you miss the insistence on a release clause bit or are you ignoring it?

Let's just say we have some people inside the CFG who know fuck all about football and how it actually works.

The club actually likes to employ people who don't support City or don't have a real passion for football as such.

I have a couple of contacts within it and their bullishness is welcome, but we all know how things can get fubar.

Is this relating to transfer business or just general business?

All a bit confusing but hopefully not as foreboding as it reads.
