BOROUGH / CASES TODAY / V YESTERDAY / V LAST WEEK

BOLTON 150 / UP 28 / UP 32

BURY 115 / DOWN 4 / UP 17

MANCHESTER 520 / UP 85 / UP 149

OLDHAM 230 / UP 16 / UP 96

ROCHDALE 177 / UP 47 / UP 67

TAMESIDE 162 / UP 23 / UP 72

TRAFFORD 186 / UP 19 / UP 67

WIGAN 277 / UP 29 / UP 71

Bad day for GM. Bolton and Bury doing the best. Salford also hinting at stabilising.

Stockport had its worst numbers in some time yet Trafford still did worse enough to increase its overall Pop lead over them. But falling behind Bolton even though they are up too.

These numbers might be a data anomaly,. Guess we will see over the next few days.

Turns out I've had one of the Indian AIDS batch jabs as my first dose. There goes our fucking holiday end of this month.
Depends where you're going several countries have already recognized it as valid
Spain greece germany Iceland Austria Slovenia all ok with it

Greater Manchester

Weekly total cases:-

Bury 772, Bolton 822 , Tameside 854, Stockport 947 , Trafford 1035, , Rochdale 1042 , Oldham 1220,
Salford 1282. Wigan 1675, Manchester 2939..

Manchester closing in on 3000.

Salford and Wigan still going up and Oldham, Rochdale and a struggling Trafford all now into four figures.

Stockport another bad day away from making it 7 out of 10.

Bolton and Bury were the first to spike and are now the best with Tameside clinging on, Though every borough now averaging over 100 cases a day.

GM Weekly Pop Data after today:~

Borough / Pop Today / 7 days ago / up or down wk to wk/ Testing is % of local population who have tested positive for Covid over past year.

As ever with Pop going up is bad, going down good - the higher the number the better or worse depending on direction moving. The Pop is total cases in past week versus 100,000 POPulation to even out the comparison versus size and expected cases based on numbers living there.5

Manchester 532 / 428 / UP 104 Testing positive 11.6%

Oldham 515 / 281 / UP 234 Testing positive 11.1%

Wigan 509 / 357 / UP 152 Testing positive 10. 4%

Salford 496 / 396 / UP 100 Testing positive 10.9%

Rochdale 478 / 285 / UP 160 Testing positive 11.1 %

Trafford 436 / 283 / UP 153 Testing positive 8.3 8

Bury 404 / 336 / UP 68 Testing positive 10.7%

Tameside 395 / 269 / UP 126 Testing positive 9.3%

Stockport 323 / 231 / UP 92 Testing positive 8.4%

Bolton 298 / 252 / UP 46 Testing positive 11.8%

Some big weekly rises. Never seen so many up week to week by over 100 and , Bolton by only rising 31 week to week tops GM - which is unprecedented that every borough is rising so much,

Many over 100 and Oldham up 234 in the week is very high.

Three in the 500s is not good for GM either - all higher than Bolton ever reached when it was all over the national news,

Bolton now officially the 'lowest' Pop Score and only one outside of 300 in GM but only just and had its biggest jump up in weeks today too. Looks like no GM borough under 300 is possible tomorrow.

Some really big Pop rises today.

Trafford case numbers remain worse than Stockport and lost another huge chunk of its lead on overall Pop Score.

Stockport up 64 - most in ages and is now on 8415 but Trafford up by more - 79 - to 8438 - a swing of another to Stockport despite its high numbers today - meaning it is now best Pop Score across the pandemic by 23 and still rising mostly as Trafford is doing worse not Stockport doing well.

Bolton had the lowest Pop Score rise today of just 52. to 11, 791.

Oldham the worst on 97 up to 11, 150.

Manchester not far behind up 94 - its highest jump in months now on 11, 636 - 42 nearer Bolton in one leap!

Rochdale on 11, 105 now falling behind the rampant rise of Oldham.

Salford rose by 83 to 10, 894

With Bury, doing much better now and rising by just 60 to fall behind on 10, 729.

Wigan up by 84 to reach 10, 523.

So just Stockport and Trafford - both in the MID 8000s for now - as they are rising too fast to be confident it will be for long - - and Tameside a rung above on 9347.

None in imminent danger of heading into the 10 K club with the rest of GM, But imminent is getting nearer these days!

Traffords figures a real worry.
To ask an obvious question if the government are happy with low deaths and hospitalisations why are there so many tests being conducted if they are happy that the vaccines are working?

GM VACCINE UPDATE:

Latest Vaccine Update by Population Percentage for 10 GM boroughs

Borough/ First Dose / Both Doses - TODAY V YESTERDAY

BOLTON 76.4% / 57.6% V 76.2 / 57.4%

BURY 77.7% / 58.0% V 77.7% / 57.6%

MANCHESTER 60.7% / 37.9% V 60.4% / 37.5%

OLDHAM 72.2% / 54.3% V 72.1% / 54.2%

ROCHDALE 74.0% / 54.0% V 73.8% / 53.6%

SALFORD 67.7 % / 45.1% V 67.4% / 44.8%

STOCKPORT 82.2% / 61.6% V 82.0% / 61.3%

TAMESIDE 77.4% / 58.8% V 77.3% / 58.4%

TRAFFORD 79.8% / 59.1% V 79.7% / 58.8%

WIGAN 81.4% / 61.2% V 81.1% / 60.8%

Wigan and Manchester up 0.7% did the most today, Which is good as both need them.

But given their numbers Oldham going up just 0.2% - the worst - is not good news.

So people can self isolate and minimise the spread. The fewer case numbers the better and you only know where you are with the case numbers and positivity,

Nobody is happy with any deaths and hospitalisations but you have to reach a point where opening up at a point that can be tolerated will be needed to save the economy and jobs.

But we ideally need cases stable or falling not escalating fast when we do open up.

It seems there is still plenty of susceptible people, and still the vaccination programme isn't making a decisive difference to growth.

Exponential growth continues across the UK, and given it still hasn't stopped growing in the NW, it seems likely to at least reach our levels everywhere.

It's looking increasingly likely this wave will peak above the previous ones on cases. Definitely not on deaths and almost certainly a long way off on hospitalizations too.

Chatting to a double vaxxed work colleague today just out of hospital with Covid. Lost 10kgs. Awful illness.

Do you get paid every time you use the word exponential? You’re like Marvin with the word variant every other post says the same thing.

Had to take my little girl to stepping hill last night (shes fine) … mobbed!!! With kids.

in the nurses words “seeing more children than ever before with non covid virus’, we think its because there immune systems are weak because theyve not been mixing the same”.

What a total fucking mess

Protect the vulnerable forget about the kids. Pretty much been the tone since the pandemic started.

Some absolute nonsense being spouted on here.
July 19 must be full unlock with the only possible exception masks on public transport only.

Test and trace has to stop come July 19.
Otherwise what is the point?
The number of people being asked to isolate would go through the roof.
Blame that idiot Hancock
Test and trace has been a disaster since day 1
DELETE THE APP! is my best advice.

I’ve never put it on.
However, it’s not actually law to isolate if the app pings you anyway. I’ve heard of lots ignoring it.
