Per the Guardian. Apologies if posted. End lock downs now and just get the fuck on with it (in countries with high vaccination percentages like the U.K.):

View attachment 20550

we're a couple weeks away and pretty much out of lockdown now.

there's been a increase in hospitalisations from other causes unrelated to Covid and a huge backlog of procedures - we should be cautious but everyone's given up anyway i suppose.

Scotland data

3 deaths - was 3 last week

3108 cases - was 2836 last week

9.6% positivity - was 8.9% last week

306 patients - was 285 yesterday & 197 last week

25 ventilated icu - was 19 yesterday & 18 last week

Cases are flat and positivity not up much but that hospital data is on a slightly worrying upward path.

Hopefully it will level off as NW may be doing,

Those last few days in North West have been a bit of reversal too - however - as seems the case in Scotland at a point of cases rapidly going up, May just be the lag from the big jump up in cases a week or so ago is my suspicion.

Less happy than I was a few days ago, But we will see where it goes,

Test centre in Rammy is quiet, just had a chat with a couple of the workers there and they said it’s been much quieter over the last few days.

I wonder when we'll reach the point that people just decide they're not getting tested anymore because it's an inconvenience and they want it opened up. Easiest way to reduce case numbers is for people to not bother getting tested.

Think we are getting there, so many people around me being told to isolate and get tested it's becomming unsustainable and a quite a few not bothering unless they have symptoms.

Zoe App data

Not looked at this for a day or two owing to my need to bed in a new computer but here is an update

Predicted cases in past 2 days up by 2941 to 30, 121

Ongoing symptomatic cases up 30, 165 in 48 hours to 358, 693

That is the highest I have ever seen on Zoe and the biggest rise in months.

In GM rather curiously or worryingly given right now it has the LOWEST weekly cases of all 10 borough but BURY is way ahead on Zoe - most in the North West on 21, 880 predicted. Not a clue where that has come from.

Less surprisingly Oldham is second on 15, 939 predicted. With Manchester third on 13, 159 and Wigan just behind on 12, 288.

The rest are all sub 10K but still high,

Trafford on 9861, Tameside on 8643, Bolton on 6490, and Salford on 5927 doing better,

The only two boroughs - under 5K and both doing better in recet days on Zoe are

Stockport on 4847 and Rochdale on 4297

Elsewhere in the North West Lancaster is second highest after Bury on 16, 852 with Ribble Valley 16, 836.

Chorley, Wyre and Fylde are all above everywhere else in GM bar the top 3.

Scotland has lots of areas now higher than GM and has very much become the epicentre.

But almost all beach areas in the UK have spiked from Devon to North Wales etc.

In the South many areas over 5000 now and in London almost every inner city borough with Tower Hamlets on 12, 485 the highest I spotted, Though there were too may to check!

Tim Spector just confirmed what I was seeing too from his Zoe data. NW seems to be flatlining.

First in, first out, The other regions having had more jab time might not have so far to climb or then fall,

Seeing full crowds at Wimbledon is really fucking me off and there letting in 140,000 at Silverstone soon!
All these test events are in the South, nothing here.
Is this really a good idea with this variant running riot and why is the North getting nothing?

Look at India’s data. Looks like it flattens out at about 4 weeks and then rapidly declines over the next 3.

Is anything happening in the North West , that could be used as a test event ?

Can't believe 21,880 predicted cases in Bury (15% of the population !).

If that's anything like accurate, obviously we'd have to wait a couple of weeks to see the rising hospitalisation, but as of today the Government stats show minimal admissions and only 1 death in last week. Feels good news, oddly.
