Next Manager after Pep

Let's face facts. Bobby Manc won't be City's next or even future manager for two main reasons...

1. He will never trust the owners or the Barcelona mafia involved. They treated him like shit in his final season with us, and failed (refused) to back him over potential new signings.

2. Dismal @Didsbury Dave and his cronies probably wouldn't let Bobby come back even as an opposition manager.

C'est la vie.... We move on... (in a couple of years)

God help whoever takes over from Pep.

1. Julian Nagelsmann
2. Luis Enrique
3. Marcelo Gallardo

Those are my three choices exactly in that order.

I get the feeling Pep may be around beyond the current deal, especially if the Premier League stays competitive.

I genuinely can't see where he goes. I wouldn't be surprised if the club try and keep him around in some capacity after he leaves.

That would be the worse idea ever.

Look across the road for a prime example.

Agree with the first line, disagree with the second.

Italy, France, International management, back to Germany, USA.

These are probably his options post-City. I think Pep should be free to leave the club once he is done as manager as we can't allow him to take control or credibility away from an incoming manager. He could have a club ambassador role or some other similar hands-off job, but not as an executive or anything like that.

I believe I read that he wants to finish his career back training the youth teams at Barca.

I can see him trying Italy at some point. Serie A and the national team seems to be having a little resurgence. Hope he doesn't, hope he stays with us for a few more seasons.

I can't argue with that - save for this...

Is Mancini falling out with the Italian national side? Or, has he matured? Now managing not through conflict, but through motivation and appeal to team and hard work?

Who knows?... I don't see any press reporting conflict with Mancini as Italian manager (which of course doesn't mean that unreported conflict is in fact occurring behind the scenes).

And he has single-handedly transformed an aging, poor, footballing side that didn't even qualify for the WC, into an exciting, young, vigorous team, playing dynamic, attacking football, and going undefeated for a record number of games.

At any rate, I love the style of football Italy is playing... don't you too enjoy their games?

And Italy's record of success under Mancini is phenomenal.

Put me down for Mancini as manager after Pep.

Some fcukers have too thin skins.

Bobby’s coming home.

I love the belief that every person connected to City should be kept on when they retire or leave. We would have the biggest staff of any organisation in the world

Luis Enrique is a pretty good shout. He was the Barca B coach for 3 years when Pep was at Barca and they were apparently very close.

He was teammates with Txiki and Pep as a player (for Spain, he joined Barcelona after Txiki left)

He's won a treble with Barcelona, his sides play good football, knows how to handle big egos (he's the only coach to drop Messi for not following instructions). Ballague says he speaks English well and wants to manage in the PL.

PS Luis Enrique is his first names, you can't call him Enrique. That's like calling Billy Bob Thornton or Mary Taylor Moore "Bob" or "Taylor".

He'll be 'Eric' within five minutes if he was here, let's be honest.

Guessing at what the top brass likes, if Pep leaves anytime, I believe the club will push for Luis Enrique. At least he'd be on the 'list'.
