Thats like saying Sterling isn't left sited playerWhy? Foden isn’t a right sided player, Saka is. Foden shouldn’t even be in consideration for that right hand side, he should be on the left or in attacking mid, nowhere else.

The thing about Foden is that he did nothing wrong in them opening games and his replacements haven’t done any better.
Southgate can point to the results though and that’s all that matters.
It just happens sometimes. David Silva didn't do anything wrong against Switzerland in 2010, but Del Bosque stumbled across a winning formula and unfortunately that didn't include him.
Hopefully Foden gets on as a substitute and does something that lets him leapfrog the others again.

Foden deserves to start IMO but I'm pleased he isn't doing as less chance of him picking up an injury. I wish Stones, Sterling and Walker weren't starting either.
Think southgate realises that Phil is better on the left, but how can he drop Raz now, hopefully if we are comfortably ahead on say 60 mins he brings Phil on for Raz.....or if we are behind and desperate for a bit of magic.
The above is the only way I see Phil getting minutes in this tournament now, not complaining as such but it does seem like a talent overlooked, but still gonna get behind em, its about time it came home.

Come on now. I think it's unfair to suggest that everyone who thinks that foden should be playing is saying its because of City. What I think people are struggling with is understanding what he did wrong in the first two games to be essentially benched for the tournament.They don’t think do they? Some do.Come on now. I think it's unfair to suggest that everyone who thinks that foden should be playing is saying its because of City. What I think people are struggling with is understanding what he did wrong in the first two games to be essentially benched for the tournament.
Foden is at the start of his career. He will feature in this team for a decade. As will Saka, Grealish a little less. Foden, just because we know he’s awesome, has no Devine right to start. Southgate clearly sees something in training, and the not so surprise element is it’s working.
we are just people on a forum, some tinted with blue. Which is fair enough of course.

He did nothing wrong so I don’t think being dropped will affect him too much. I’ve no doubt he’ll continue developing as a player and for the World Cup it will be impossible for any manager not to include him in the starting eleven.

Yeah people have jumped on the weird notion that we all think he’s missing out because he’s a blue. It’s gathered a bit of momentum and it’s now trotted our to make people who want to see the best player In the squad sound like insecure dickheads.Come on now. I want Foden to start because he’s fucking quality and makes me sit on the edge of my seat. That’s why I love the game, those types of player are few and far between so when one arrives I want to be able to watch him at every opportunity.
City fans not seeing this are the strange ones regardless of the defence they put up.
