Fair play, it's exactly that greatness I am missing in all your national (and understandable) frenzy. A bit of objectivity.

And, I didn't see the Danish dive, so sadly it's fair to say it's part of the English game. It certainly depends on the individuals and we all know the candidates...

Poor Denmark, could have easily stopped playing with a 2nd ball close, but didn't and got rewarded by "He's diving home, he's diving!" and the luckiest of pen rebound. That's what you needed to beat a Danish team dead on their feet, if honest.

England won deservedly, Denmark didn't have enough.
But many circumstances like booing anthems, booing throughout the match, cheating, diving, the snidey behaviour of Maguire or Mount,
laser pointing the keeper, running to the corner flag for the last 15 mins with 1 man up - it makes it really hard having much sympathy for England. But I understand it's not the moment to care about that ;)

After all, English football has arrived to be purer Italian than Italian 80s prime shithousery - as I have it in mind - whereas Italy nowadays play some impressive football.

No idea what to expect from the final. Football and respect would be nice for a change.
A load of diving, cheating, nastyness.
And God knows what the Italians will get up to!

You’re disappointed that a foul wasn’t overruled?
Nowt queer as folk...

I wouldn’t be, if it was a foul, but it was never a foul. Look at his movement. Raheems leg doesn’t move or change dirrections, he manage to take half a step, before falling to the ground.
That split second where he realises, a slight insignificant touch.. and then he tumbles.

I think you can debate about the penalty until England reaches another final at a tournament.

There was contact. But surely not of a kind that made Sterling fall over like he did. And we have seen this many times this season.

The one thing I find peculiar is that the ref didn’t had a look on a tv screen. Or that the VAR asked for him to have a look as it could’ve gone either way.
It’s a pity games of such importance are decided by controversy because it was by all means a controversial penalty.

Fuck me let it go.

We just got through to a major championship final on the back of a decision that even professionals couldn’t find a significant reason to overrule.

Because it’s Sterling, it’s like no team ever won a match through a dubious or ‘either way’ decision.

Now England can stop moaning about the hand of god and lampards non goal because that was a really bad decision but there you are

Something not mentioned so far. There does not have to be contact for a pen to be awarded.
If an attacker has to take evasive action to avoid a foul tackle but stumbles as a result, a pen can be awarded even tho' the foul tackle missed.
So, if the Danish foot was a late tackle that missed and Raz stumbled in trying to jump over it, it is a pen.

More chance of me getting a BJ off Scarlet Johanson in the bogs of my local.

Doesn't matter.

The Press have found another stick to beat Raz with whilst ignoring the Brummie headband king.

To my surprise a German ref explained on tv that UEFA pre EURO have given instruction, that in case of ANY contact for a possible penalty the onfield ref takes the decision and VAR cannot overrule!

That seems to be the reason a check and review didn't take place.
Yeah, why use technology? Makes no sense.

You know England have reached a final...?

This anti Sterling and anti England stuff is hilarious. Loved the game last night and a bit of flag waving and cheering with a group of other football fans put a big beaming smile on my face.

Can't wait for Sunday watching it with my Son and Grandsons, a few beers a home made curry and the telly on full blast.

Didn’t know that. So from all these penalty checks by VAR during the Euros that makes us wait several minutes, none of them has anything to do with contact? Wow

I feel like I'm going insane with the "Sterling dived" nonsense.

The Denmark #5, Maehle, you can see his right knee clip Sterling's right calf/ankle. At the same time, the Denmark #24, Jensen, barges his right hip into Sterling's left thigh/hip. The combined force of the contact sends Sterling to the ground.

People are acting like he threw himself over without so much as a whiff of a defender being near him.

I’m a danish city supporter, so the decision is a bit more painful to me, since I was on the receiving end :-)
I’m not giving Raheem stick, it’s the refs decision, that is hard to comprehend.

Anyways, as I wrote in the thread yesterday.
Congrats, England were the better side.

It's no coincidence that the posters who have spent the most time in the Sterling thread calling him shit are the same ones trying to claim it wasn't a penalty.

They've got it bad, bless.
