Rags on twitter saying Varane-Maguire would be the best CB partnership in the world. Looool.

A lot of em are expecting to win the League next season. Which is rather strange considering they are, at best, the fourth best team in the League.

I’m delighted they are expecting to win the league. It’s a much bigger fall than just hoping they get a CL spot.
 
Granted it would be a very good defence if they got Varane in. A pretty solid looking back four although they have issues with a keeper as De Gea has fallen off a cliff and as much as he and all United fans want it to be Henderson is definitely not the answer. Massively over hyped and believes himself to be far better than he is.

As much as they will have a solid defence and hard to get through the modern game is all about being able to build attacks from the back and actually keeping the ball. It’s why Italy were relatively comfortable Sunday night.

Stones will take the ball anywhere and show for it. His first touch is generally a forward touch and he opens himself up so he has the whole picture to chose from. Even being able to step into the lines and then pick a pass.
With Maguire the amount of times the ball goes to him on the left side he controls it with the outside of his right foot thus reducing his options to having to pass out to the left. He then has to check back and go back to his keeper who if it’s Henderson or Pickford invariably they will spank it down the field and losing the ball.
So yes they may have a strong defensive unit but they won’t make them the shoe in for the title that the masses want us to believe.

The 1-6 was a scenario of the bully finally getting bullied.
Face rubbed into the muddy ground, debagged and laughed at by all who were there to watch its comeuppance
