I wore one to local shops this week. And to Dentist and an ENT appt but those were enforced. My wife doesn't wear them in any place where it's indoors and not enforced. Seems silly following two different approaches. We go trafford centre in a week, she'll not wear a mask I will. It's daft isn't it. I'm stopping myself from potentially spreading covid, but it doesn't stop me catching it from all those that have no mask. Wish we'd kept it mandatory for just 2 months.
I've not worn a mask anywhere this week other than at the customers I've visited that insist on it. This is either the end game or we accept that Covid will result in a certain number of deaths each year like flu etc.

The supermarkets sacked it all off a while ago. Most of the staff don’t wear masks now and the big Sainsbury’s near me have got rid of the bouncers and sanitiser stations on the door.

The Sanitising stations, whilst a well intended idea are just dreadful, unless they are sensor activated they will be either covered in dirt or the cheapest chemicals (in an oversized bottle) that is bad for your skin. I use the little tub in my pocket or not at all.

100% agree why would I touch a dirty button pressed by everyone else, I always carry own and use that unless automatic

I'll continue to wear a mask during public transport and confined spaces

Keep wearing yours. If she catches it and passes it onto you, you can bring up how she nearly killed you for the next few years. Win every argument for a while.

Because when you touch the button you then sanitise your hand clean ….
Yeah I realize that but I still don't like the idea of it, I'm in a habit now to bring my own and clean the kids aswell so doesn't bother me but they do look bogging, let's just say well fingered

You mean you accept those things? You were the one who decided to not wear it
I'm fully vaccinated and as far as I'm concerned that is as far as I'm prepared to go regarding Covid. If that's not good enough and it sees me off then oh well. I'd prefer to live my life as I have done for the last 67 years. Others might not and it's entirely up to them.

On a serious note it would be interesting to see the demographics who feel certain ways eg older/suburban. I live in Manchester City Centre and it’s been carnage for weeks.
I live in Toronto Canada and haven’t seen a single person in a shop, shopping centre or builders yard without a mask for at least 18 months.

Demographics in Tesco Walkden were very even. Male/female, young/old didn't make any difference. Loads of people my age male and female maskless. Very relaxed and no obvious hostility between either group. No-one seemed to be bothered actually.

Couldn’t have put it better. May pinch this but replace the 67 with 59..

I'm between 40 and 50 and as soon as it kicked off I wore a mask, you may say over cautious but wife was pregnant and felt I had to protect as the risks were in the most part unknown. The uptake from majority of others was very slow until enforced. I'd say less than 5% wore them until enforced, then about 90% of people used a mask. I'm located in Scotland so our restrictions not been lifted yet but I suspect that as soon as restrictions are lifted we'll see about a half and half split when shopping at supermarket. I expect if left with no restrictions then majority of people will stop wearing a mask within a year

Went to the big tesco today , they have scrapped the one in one out system but still have the please wear a mask sign up , about 80% had them on and all the plastic screens are still up
