I will go for 5 days in a caravan in Siloth in Cumbria. Horrendous. Just don’t ever go.

Haven at Hafan Y Mor when the kids were little. Pissed it down all the way through. England got beat in the Euro's whilst we were there much to the locals amusement. And on the way back a lorry nearly took us out on a roundabout.

That was our last break on this isle.

A family holiday in Bridlington in 1963, the place was infested with flies, you couldn't walk along the seafront without them swarming around. The only memorable bit was hearing about the Great Train Robbery on the news!

Las Piramides in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife was pretty bad. Crawling with the Hull and Essex lot on their yearly venture off the estate. Sewage problems in the room too, cold food at the buffet, rude as fuck staff to a man. Put me off ever going to Tenerife again, which is a shame as a lot swear by it.

I remember a holiday on the Greek island of Aegina in the 90s. The beach nearest to our hotel was full of litter and when i walked along it i sunk to my knees in thick oil under the sand! I trudged back to the hotel to wash it off shower and the hotel owner said i couldn't have a shower saying I should walk a mile along a track to a petrol station so I could wipe it off with petrol. I told him i wasn't prepared to walk a mile in the blazing sun caked in oil. He relented because a few other hotel guests said he should let me shower, so he begrudgingly let me. Agina is the nearest island to Athens and the port of Piraeus where cruise ships tip their rubbish and old engine oil. Apart from that it wasn't too bad a holiday.

I also had another bad experience in mid 90s when I went to kusadasi in Turkey. I got food poisoning from eating a cooked chicken on a rotisserie that had juices from uncooked chickens dripping on it. I was really ill for 3 days on the toilet and being sick and could only stomach bread and water. The only good thing was i wasn't spending much so i treated myself to a leather jacket.

I'm going there in October

Not a shithole but beware of La Manga on the Costa Blanca. A lot of club and International teams used to go there, it's where the some of Leicester team got caught with their trousers down a few years ago. It's a rip off, shite service and full of brass, never again. Even the barmaid at the pub on site was a part time prossy, she gave my mate a "menu" with her prices on it, golf courses were good though:-)

and did "your mate" avail himself of the services available?

Na, he'd just got married that year, 2003, sadly divorced now so maybe should have. The thing is, there were a lot of shady characters there, I'm guessing you may have been mugged if you did "avail"
yourself, very, very dodgy.

One of my other golf mates, Simon, who is a few years younger than the rest of us went for a piss and this guy, probably about 60 at the time followed him in to the toilet. As Simon was having a slash the bloke looked down at his old man and said "you're a fine looking well built young man, would you like to earn a 100 euros for a few minutes work"? He didn't hang around to find out what the "work" was and we left the bar pdq and ensured we stayed together as a group all the time, seediest place I've ever been to, very expensive but I hated that environment. Maybe different now but not a great experience.

Wow,my visit there was 1990,absolute weirdest gaff I think I'll ever visit, dancing bears, changing money on the street, and food was awful, just ate ham and egg and chips me for the whole stay.......2 bastard weeks as well !
A lad who goes in our local goes there most years, he's a tight fucker so maybe he's influenced by the low cost of the holiday. Sounds like hell.

I think it has changed a lot mate these days, seems a bit of a go to place, but it was deffo what I thought Eastern Europe was like back then, will never forget it.

Even Balkan Airlines plane we went on was rickety as fuck, horrible flight,do remember the stewardess girls were fit though.

In my childhood it was Towyn and the caravan park/camp sites.

Fucking shithole and it pissed down all the time

However this corker of a video lets it off having my complete distain ;-)

In my adult life I would say singapore was the only place that not so much worst but least enjoyable, I booked was there for a week but left after 3 day as I was bored by then.

Stayed there in May 1999. Got some money back from the tour operator as they never told us about the "street furniture" installation work being done outside the hotel every day for the first week, even though they knew about it. Drilling, etc, directly below our room from 8-6. Then the rags winning the CL in the "famous night in Barcelona" really pissed me off - the place was crawling with them!
Since then, have stayed many times in Palma Nova - much more (ahem) gentille in comparison. My nephew always arranged the accommodation, as he was (at the time) the head rep of First Choice for the Spanish islands.
