Best Ever Headed City Goal

To put one forward that I don't think anybody has said, Bianchi v Spurs was a cracker (7 secs in on the video below)

Aguero in the FA Cup Semi v Chelsea is probably my favourite. Although Kompany v United was more important and probably celebrated more at the time.

Yeah, spot on.. We battered Wanderers 4-1 that day, the week after Easter when we‘d lost at Bury 1-2 to end a decent unbeaten run on the way to the 2nd Division title.. I think Allison gave them a rocket up their collective jaxie for losing at Gigg Lane and we took it out on Bolton! Kennedy’s header was really powerful as you say, a real stand out goal!
Oh, thanks for that. Senility not got me yet, it seems.

I had quite forgotten that sending off of Ireland. A typical brainless act from him.

Andy Hinchcliffe, 5-1

Bishop’s long ball to White, White’s first time cross and Hincliffe’s bullet header just inside the box in front of an ever dwindling number of United fans in Platt Lane to make it 5 and he reminded them it was 5. No contest.
I remember thinking “fuck me theres half an hour to go yet” thinking it could be 7 or 8 when we were all shitting ourselves about getting pasted in the Pub pre-game

Bobby Johnstone 1956 final.or Tommy Booth semi against Everton 1968/9
Bobby's header in the 1955 Final. Spent next two years bloodying my knees trying to copy it past the lamppost in our street.
Dzeko at Spurs.
Kompany v. rags.
Benarbia v Villa one Boxing Day at Maine Rd when he jumped into the Platt Lane stand after it..

Blueprint said it was a good job he didn’t score the second!

I was sitting in Row 10 behind the goal.

I have never heard a header like that before. Rattled the goal on impact, too.

Unforgettable, even almost 45 years later.

2:08 in, if you don’t want the other highlights.

For technical perfection this is it it seems to me along with Mick McCarthys v Scum

A really old one. Bobby Kennedy vs Bolton, MR 1966 (?) Bullet header from edge of the box. Anyone else remember that, or has my addled old brain made it up?
That one escapes he. I would certainly have been at that match as I only missed the away matches at Cardiff and Norwich that season. Bobby Kennedy was something of an enigma as he was signed as a wing-half but played most of his later matches for City at full-back.

City paid £45,000 for him to sign from Kilmarnock. That was a lot of money at the time but I think that they eventually got good value from time over eight seasons.
