I would imagine when Grealish signed his new contract at Villa he would have had some sort of agreement in place that he could leave if the club got a decent fee. When he signed it he was hot property and like now Villa's most valuable asset. Being a Villa fan he probably thought I'll sign so if my performances propel me forward and I want to go they'll at least get a good whack.

He could stay at Villa and like Steve Bull at Wolves become a local legend without winning anything. Top sportsmen want to win trophies though and I think he'll have more chance of doing that with us than Villa.

He signed the new contract with a clause regarding the fee and the destination,allegedly....
 
Ha Grealish has now deleted even more tweets. Don't want to jinx anything but feels like a done deal.

Doesn’t work like that, we either want him and pay what it takes and can afford or we don’t. Comparing the cost to other players is pointless far too many variables feed into the cost, ability is just one of many.

You need to disregard historical fees, Ben White has just gone for 50 million, With Grealish and Phil we have the two most exciting players in the league with Kev pulling the strings.

We bought KDB years ago, if we were trying to sign him now he would cost much more than the numbers being banded about for Grealish.

Well I hope you enjoy him, I hope Pep gives him a bit of freedom to roam because that's when he's at his most dangerous. He's the only World Class player i'll probably ever see in a Villa shirt but it was a pleasure to have him in his prime for a bit. Be funny to listen to United fans claim Sancho is better, I can see him and KDB scrapping it this season to break the assist record.

Probably won't post again but thanks for having me and all the best for this season and the future. Hopefully you'll win the elusive CL, if you sign Kane as well then you'll absolutely walk it.

Don't go, it's really refreshing to have a geniune fan of another club, who posts sense without snide remarks.

Hope, for you, Villa invest wisely with any Grealish monies and continue to rise up the league and get into Europe.

A friend of mine own an insurance brokers that has many high wealth clients including a large number of footballers and their agents. And includes the Grealish family!
Grealish’s dad has told him this morning that he expects Jack to be a city player next week.
Just sayin.
